Great 3M product. I used this product on a Ski Nautique boat fiberglass gel coat that had hard water mineral spots that were very visible on a black stripe and also a red stripe along the sides of the boat from the stern to the bow. I used a variable speed electric rotary buffer at lower speeds and applied the 3M Medium Cutting Compound and buffed it until the material was pretty much worked in. I was able to remove all of the hard water mineral spots so that the gel coat is now smooth any shiny. I buffed the boat in cooler temperatures in the low 60’s so that I had plenty of working time. Absolutely the best cutting and polishing compound that I have ever used at a very reasonable price point.

This worked perfectly. I had squirrel marks on a black truck from car washes and this took the squirrel marks out and put a glaze finish on my paint.

I am amazed how great this turned out. My motorhome is originally tan however, overtime it has become gray and dull. After alot of hardwork, I was pleased. The motorhome looks just like when i bought it.. Long term I am not sure. It rained 24 hours after i finished and there were water lines all down the sides. After drying i had to redo the areas. Im living in the moment until the next rainfall.

3M products are the go-to in my opinion if you want a good quality product to use to polish whatever it is you need to give a good shine to. It did it's job polishing the boat and bringing back the shine and cutting through the oxidation. Good value for the money also

Very good for buffing Gelcoat

Quick delivery, product works as illustrated. Works well on restoring the gel coat finish on my boat. Also used it, on my motorcoach. Fairly easy application, took off the oxidation and added a nice clear shine. Great value for the money.Time will tell how durable it is. Another grade 3 product. Would buy from this dealer again.

3M makes a superior product. Apply to moist polish pad, slow speed to begin, then move to medium speed to finish. Move in all directions and overlap passes. You can use a spray bottle to moisten if need be during the application. Allow haze to develop and wipe off this first pass of polish with micro-fiber towel then use a fluffy woolen buff pad to develop a nice "see your face" in shine. If the oxidation is heavy to begin with and you're not satisfied with the initial result, no worries, simply repeat the process. Patience is king when buffing out a faded, oxidized gel-coat or an old-fashioned lacquer finish. Do not run your buffer at a high speed using hard pressure. This is a mistake and you'll stand a good chance of "burning" the finish. With gentle pressure, let the weight of the buffer do the work. Do not use this in the hot sun, you will not like the outcome. Enjoy the shade for a much better result. The 1QT size is the right choice and a much better value. Do not use this on a modern clear coat automotive finish.
