Nice birdhouse but...
...came broken the first AND second time.First time I couldn't fix it because a screw split the wood on the door to open and clean it. Second time pieces of the roof came off. Decided to just glue it myself. Think it was due to the way it was shipped.

Mostly good, a little bad
First, and explanation of the photo. When I opened the house to check the inside I found about an inch of what appeared to be wire staple or brad sticking up from the back corner of the inside of the house. Glad I checked the inside before hanging the house. One star off for leaving pokey things that might injure baby birds. Easily fixed with wire snips and some Gorilla glue.Otherwise, this is a solidly built item. The wood is heavy and plenty thick for insulation. The front panel, if a little lose, opens easily for cleaning. The drain/ventilation holes were a little small, so I drilled a couple more.Ready to mount as soon as the glue “bandaid” dries. The wrens have been house hunting, we’ll see how they like this one.

Attractive & appropriate
Really like it. The bamboo is pretty, the features seem appropriate, i.e, correct-size hole for the kind of bird we want to attract, non-dark color so as not to absorb too much sun and heat in our very hot summer, sufficient ventilation holes, and easy-open for cleaning. (Don’t ever buy just a decorative birdhouse with any size opening at the hobby shop; these things matter, if you’re hoping to attract a certain kind of bird. House wrens and Carolina wrens, for example, take a smaller entrance. If you get a birdhouse with the frequently-found larger hole, you will likely end up with house sparrows. Suggest do some research.) Will have to update someday in future regarding durability, but for now we are pleased.

Hole is too small
Pro: It looks nice, and is well-made.Con: There is not a single chart out there showing that any bird can use a 1" diameter entry hole. A chickadee is even listed as 1 1/8", and a wren is a bit larger than that. My fault for not checking the charts before purchasing this, but it is too small for birds to go inside. I'll be returning it, or may try to enlarge the hole, but I suspect that might shatter the wood.

Sturdy and well designed
This is a perfect size and well-made. Easy to clean. Bamboo is more durable than wood. Excellent bird house.

Quality Needs some help
Item is just OK, had to send first one back because the bamboo is just a laminate and was coming unglued which would not last long outside. The design is good, not sure bamboo is the best material to use if it is not going to be a solid piece, otherwise some other material might be better.
