Thrive Culinary Algae Cooking Oil, 16.9 Ounce (Pack of 2)

Q: Does this oil have a high amount of epa or dha, like several algae oil omega3 supplements that have come on to the market recently?

I called customer service with that question and I got this answer: "The amount of Omega-3 (including EPA and DHA) is 0.3%. The Omega-6 content is 4.7%. Omega-9, 90%." I assume the rest should be saturated fats and other type of unsaturated ones. They are not certified organic, "although that could change in the future".

Q: Does Thrive work well in salad dressings?

I have not used in salad dressings yet although the health benefits would be great. The only drawback is the flavor is pretty bland so it would not add to the flavor of the dressing the way an olive oil would.

Q: does this product contain any fish or shellfish?

No. This oil is produced by microalgae. No fish or shellfish are involved in its production.
