Works like a charm! So easy to use and clean. Cheese slicing was smoothly done and very uniform. Very pleased with it!

Unlike a lot of cheese cutters, this one has an actual blade on an arm, not a flimsy wire. This is useful for several reasons. One, it takes virtually no strength to make precise cuts. Perfect if you suffer from arthritis. 2, because of the well made blade you can cut potatoes, carrots, cucumbers, etc., with ease. It is easy to clean and dishwasher safe. However, make sure you use caution when putting it in or taking it out of a dishwasher. My wife accidentally cut her finger through the nail while retrieving it. The blade is sharp and as long as you’re careful this is an excellent cutter. I have purchased 2 of these. After loving it for myself, I purchased it again for a friend. 5 Stars.

We'd had a few "piano wire" cheese slicers over the years, we decided to see if there was something better. After mulling over a few slicers similar to this one on Amazon, we chose this model.It's lightweight, but stays in place while you're slicing. Mostly because your left hand is on the board holding on to a block of cheese, carrot, cucumber, etc.Makes very nice, evenly straight cuts on everything we've tried on it. Much faster and easier to use than any wire cutter. The video shows the user cutting carrots and the slices staying close to the cutter. In reality, the slices tend to bounce away. But it still makes nice cuts.Cleaning is easy. The guide comes off with a simple quarter turn so you can get at the blade and fixed edge.

I was surprised at how cheap these are built. But it does work great. Needs a catch tray.

I bought this to make cutting meats and cheeses for a charcuterie board when I have guests, and this worked as advertised. Very simple, insanely sharp, and very effective.

I bought this specifically to slice cheese for a charcuterie board and it exceeded my expectations.I chose this cutter after looking at a similar design (without the metal along the base) and reading a review that said the blade was cutting plastic along with the cheese. I really like how the metal on the base as well as the blade prevents potential plastic shavings getting in the food.

In a side by side comparison with a similar Amazon cheese slicer, there are many similarities but in the end, slices on this cheese slicer stuck onto the cutting blade. This meant that another movement was necessary to remove the cheese slice from the blade. Our purchase was for use as a cheese slicer and we did not attempt to slice anything else. This was an unsolicited comparison done simply because the descriptions were similar at slightly different prices and I wanted to try them both out before deciding.We have had multiple wire cheese slicers which are very fidgety and/or quickly loosened and very difficult to keep taunt enough to cut cheese.This is like a knife blade and while pretty lightweight does manage to make slicing cheese less onerous. The other slicer for some reason seemed to stick to the blade and subsequently needed an extra motion to remove each cut slice before proceeding. This one left the sliced cheese without the need to remove it from the blade. A minor inconvenience but time and effort needlessly sealed our decision to keep this and return the other. Nice paper cutter type approach, but some major flaws: Putting the knob assembly on to determine depth of cut was a bit puzzling at first, but definitely make sense after you look at how it fits together and where the interlocking notches are. This was just a minor impediment and would be easy to do the next time around.I was rather disappointed when my blade was not aligned correctly, and would cut about 50% and then the blade would collide with the base of the cutter. This could be preventing only by moving the handle away from the base laterally, and maintaining a degree of tension on the handle, which then made the cuts uneven, imprecise, and non-reproducible. There was no easy way I could see to correct this mis-alignment. I really wanted to like this device, and hoped to use it for hard sharp white cheddar cheese after my previous wire cutter failed with lack of tension and the wire breaking. I decided with the clear collision of the nice sharp knife with the cutting board about 1/2 way into the stroke, in the absence of any counter tension, that I could not justify keeping the item, and elected to send it back. The design seems quite elegant, and the cutter has a real knife like quality blade that might lend itself to periodic future sharpening if ever needed; however, the lack of precision engineering and mal-alignment makes it a suspect acquisition, although maybe others did not have this problem, and mine was just a product defect as it did not look like it sustained any damage. I may try another cheese cutter in the future, but for now just plan to use a chef's knife.

What a superb purchase this was, it is a nice product, delivered quickly and exactly as described and the warnings online of how sharp the blade and block helped as when cleaning off excess cheese I was extra careful. I used a new block of cheese, sliced off several slices to last a few days and wrapped them in aluminium foil to keep them fresh.The only thing I found strange was that the item being cut was able to move at an angle and a guide is needed along the top level with the exact trajectory of the item (in this case a nice Cheddar Cheese. To use the cutter the item being cut has to be slid towards the blade in a straight line 4 cm from the top of the board. That would stop the item being cut from sliding sideways as it was pushed towards the very sharp blade. This need reduced it to 4 stars for easy to use.

It was not the size that I expected however it is made of good quality material and knife is sharp enough to even cut through biltong with no struggle. Just not the commercial grade you’d expect but fine otherwise
