I use this 5TB external hard drive to back up my iMac and take it to the bank for safe keeping in case of a fire. I'd hate to lose years of family photos and other data. It is very easy to set up and backs up my desktop computer quickly using Time Machine. It feels very solid. My last Seagate drive lasted 5 years with daily use.

As to the drive, it seems to be working fine. A nice 4TB storage capacity with 150 MB/s Read and Write speeds as tested. The drive is a bit thicker than I would like for portability but that is fine.But the main reason for the one star deduction was the packaging. The packaging of the drive was pretty severely dented when it arrived. As I said, it seems to be working fine for now. But I am annoyed that the seller did not package it well enough to not be dented. Any damage to drive will only be evident in the long-run so it's hard to claim anything in the future. I will update this review if the drive suddenly dies or starts losing speed dramatically.

Ordered 4 Seagate One Touch 2TB Portable External Hard Drives that advertised 2 year warranty. Two stopped backing up within 6 months.Can not find seller contact to return these defective items. What good is a warranty?

I used a couple Seagates in the past. The first failed in less than a year. The last one failed within 2 months. Check the reviews. Not recommended.
