Nice bag, but some parts burn
I read the reviews and purchased the product. Unlike other fire bags, mine didn't have that "tacky" feel, which is a plus for me. The construction quality seemed good and the size was right for my use.I noticed none of the reviews (and I think I read them all) included any tests for fire resistance, so I did a quick one using my Scorch butane torch (generally used for lighting pipe tobacco, I think). Anyway, the attached picture may not reveal the results as perfectly as seeing it in person, but the Velcro portion (both the hook and loop) melted away in a fraction of a second. The same is true of the binding around the edges. It seemed that the thread held up for a couple seconds exposure and the cover of the pouch held up for a few seconds (the length of my test). I suspect that the main question is whether the bag will open up during a fire. The thread may hold the edges closed, but I am less optimistic that the flap will stay closed when the Velcro melts. Perhaps it should be stored with the flap down so the weight of the bag will keep it closed. I still think this bag is better than nothing, but you should not plan on it as a first line of defense.

Safely storing vital documents when traveling!
We are getting ready to make some big travel, to include a cross country (outside the continental US to inside) move. The one thing I worry about, more than losing my luggage but less than losing a child (thank goodness they're all teenagers with cellphones now) is what happens if our critical documents get consumed in a hotel fire? What if the black box is burned beyond all recognition? Will my passport make it out alive? As such, I bought this handy, perfectly sized document bag! It holds all 5 passports easily, a copy of our moving documents, and even room for excess cash, the checkbook, or credit cards. Not all hotels have fire-safe boxes anymore and this wonder will give me peace of mind, should the unthinkable occur while we are "homeless" between our current house and the future one. I am even considering a larger bag for our medical records (hand carrying those too).

This is for money or other like sized objects
This is for money or other like sized objects. The material seems very reliable but b I can't really say because I'm not purposely setting it on fire to test it and my house hasn't burned down. The construction seems desent and can hold a nice amount of cash. The only part idont like about the construction is the velcrow.... I would thing that it would melt and possibly open and release its contents...maybe melting on the contents, ruining it or melting the pouch shut, making it hard to access the contents? I'm sure keeping this in a safe will help the overall integrity of it.Overall, I love the constructionand purpose. I use mine for a "go bag" for all your survivalist out there. It never hurts to take an extra step to protect your emergency assets.I definitely reccoment this product

Looks like it might work OK.
I am using this to store critical documents with a "fire proof" Sentry 1170 box. I know it may be overkill. But I like the piece of mind of having two lines of defense against fire. My only complaint is that the interior dimension are to too tight to store folded letter and legal size documents without crinkling them up. I had to use my paper trimmer to remove about 3/8 inches from each document so that they'll fit gracefully.I cannot speak about it's fire rating.

Great company! Great service! Great product!
Update:After getting one in the mail that had a very strong nasty smell, I issued a return for refund. Couple weeks later, the company sent me a free one as an apology, and this one doesn’t smell at all! So I might have been just unlucky and got a smelly one. Glad the company is very nice and responsible, and has great service. The product is great itself, perfect size for important stuff like cash, passport... I would definitely recommend it to my families and friends or get another one when needed. Thanks! It's wayyyyy too smelly, which isn't described in the discription. Would not buy again.

Says "cash"
I guess it's my fault because it's in the picture, but I really don't like that this thing says "cash" on it. I bought it for personal use and if anybody, such as a maid, handyman, or family member sees it, then they are going to know that there is money in it. The packaging also said cash all over it so I shredded it. Other than that I guess it's fine.

Great Fireproof Bag
I liked this particular document bag, because it's sturdy, and obviously fireproof! But it is big enough for what I need to put in it, and easy to hide somewhere. good for storing, jewelry, cash, and documents that you need to protect from all the elements.

Heavy Duty, Nice Pouch
This pouch appears to be very well made with heavy duty materials The closure is some very stiff Velcro, and there are no discernible gaps. I don't know how fire proof it is because I am not going to try to set it on fire. I bought the pouch for extra security for important papers and mad money that will be kept in my gun safe. The pouch is an extra layer of safety for important stuff. I think the pouch is a good value.
