The green headed spikes work great, BUT that's not the whole story
As many have said, the barbs on both the sprinkler heads and the couplers that come with the set are larger than what you'll get at Home Depot and Lowes. That's good and bad, I'll explain. It's bad because it can make them difficult to install. Your stock 1/4" sprinkler tubing is too small to get over the barbs as is. You can grind down the barbs, but that seems like a lot of work. As others have said, what works well is heating up the tube. I have a butane torch that I used. It literally takes only 2 - 5 seconds to get the plastic soft enough to slide right onto the barb. Now for the good... after doing about 10 of them I got really good at it and was able to do it quickly and without an issue. There is a small learning curve. With the barb being a bit too big, once you get the tubing over it, there is very little chance of it slipping off. It is well and truly set. If you have a small torch and some gloves, you will find that this set is well worth the money savings over what you will pay at the big box stores. As I mentioned, you will DEFINITELY want gloves with a good gripping surface to both punch the hole in the large tube and insert the barb into that new hole. A good grip makes a world of difference in dealing with all the tasks involved in using these products.

These heads deliver water where you want it.
Drip irrigation is so easy to install in a flower bed and conserves water. These heads spray the water where you point them. A good solution to putting water just where the plants are, and not wasting water spraying where they aren't.

Work well
Easy to adjust volume of water. At higher volume it has a nice fountain effect but I turned them down to just drip. Easy to attach to my drip water line.

Awesome drippers.
Long, heavy stakes stays put. Love the adjustable tops. I wish I would have found these years ago.

Good company with good products, but read my review for a few cautions
First the good. The Carpathen company has exemplary customer service and responded promptly to my email questions. Packaging is environmentally friendly with no plastic. Now the not so good. I bought this system to install two straight-line watering zones for my garden, one zone with 121 feet of mainline tubing and 25 vortex emitters and another zone with 54 feet and 15 emitters. I was able to buy connectors locally to join the 5/16 inch mainline tubing runs for the the longer zone. Customer service said this long run was feasible, but it was not successful with inadequate water pressure for the plants near the end, so I removed it and replaced with regular drip hoses. The shorter zone works well. I found it very difficult to attach the 1/4 inch barbed connectors to the mainline tubing and to force the barb through the small hole made by the tool supplied, and a likely outcome is a leaky connection, especially at the start of the run near the water source. You may be better off just punching a couple of pinholes in the mainline tubing as I did, instead of using the emitters at that end.

Water drippers or tiny sprinklers
Peppers are well and are sold at a great price. I have started replacing my individual rippers in my yard with these small sprinklers. I like the fact that they’re a little taller than some of the other water sprinklers on the market. Excellent product and value.

Love These Emitters!
I use the entire Carpathen Drip System Kit and have a somewhat extensive area to water in my raised beds, containers and grow bags and these vortex emitters really does the job well. I use them for areas that need a bit more coverage as they can spray quite a wide area and therefore reduces the need to pull extra tube lines to one planter. I also use these for plants that aren't sensitive to splashing of water but don't get me wrong, you can also create very small vortex of water coming out to really control how much water a specific plant/area gets. I love that you can twist the tops to either close them completely or to increase/decrease watering for that specific emitter - it really allows you to have a solid control of how you want to water. And when used in tandem with the kits, you can really create a huge network of tubes and emitters to suit your exact watering needs. I also love their drip emitters and use them equally as much as these depending on what I'm watering. Carpathen has hands-down, the best customer service as well as the best product to do on your own without spending copious amounts of time figuring out how to put things together. You simply plan it out, connect and watch things go. Definitely saves me a TON of time on having to stand there and water my plants. Thanks Carpathen for another great product.
