Seki Edge Haircutting Styling Razor Comb

First of all, this feels like a well made product that could last me for a few years. The handle's angle can be adjusted to make using either side of the comb easy. I used it last night to cut my hair after 4 months w/o going to my stylist due to COVID-19 restrictions in San Francisco Bay area.. I only get scissor cuts with lots of texture. This razor comb has a side for texturizing hair and it worked pretty well. I was afraid of butchering my hair but I am pleased. My hair looks like it does 2 weeks after my regular hair cuts. I still need to work on are over the ears and sideburns (will need my wife to clean that up for me..) but with practice I think this razor comb should do the trick.

I am absolutely delighted with this razor comb. (I tried one before that wasn't exactly user-friendly, the result of which has finally grown out.) The Seki model is an altogether different class of styling tool. For your first few tries, it's helpful to use the blade at its lowest level (which ensured there weren't any more "Oops!" moments for me). I kept my length, but cut out far more bulk than I thought possible. My shoulder-length hair looks *so* much better. At $70 a visit, I'm not heading to the salon more than once or twice a year. This fab little trimmer ensures that my style looks sleek in between professional cuts - and for such a low price! Highest recommendation.

I have been using a cheap 3-blade triangular plastic trimmer for ages, saving oodles of money on haircuts in barbershops. Time came to replace it and this little gadget did it splendidly. The adjustable blades help a whole lot, especially when you're getting started on the gadget; as others have noted, you can play it safe by using a low setting first and then go to higher ones as needed and as you familiarize with it. Does a good job on sideburns and around the ears. Another plus is that you can easily shift the handle's direction (right or left.) I'm not having difficulty unlocking it to remove blades for cleaning, turning over or changing. Everything clicks right in place and since I don't have big hands the task is easy. If kept nice and clean and handled with care, it should function smoothly for quite a while.

Good product; works well. As several reviews have pointed out, do a little at a time till you get familiar with how it cuts. Clean hair from razor often for consistent cutting.

Easy assemble/ easy disassemble, and easy blade change. Recommend this product to everyone. Does not need prior hair-cutting ability. Results will please all.

This is a VERY dangerous product. It's very sharp with no thought of built-in safety design. Even if you are careful with it, you can cut your pet so easily and so deeply that your pet might need stitches. Stay away from this product!

I have not been to a hair salon since COVID began. Then my car gave out and another is not looking like a possibility. So I thought to cut my own hair. I am 76 years old and found I like cutting my own hair. I cannot show you how to use this item. I have no one to hold my camera, so just believe if I can cut my hair into a simple style. Anyone can with this tool. It is so easy. Use it left handed or right to reach each side of your head. I use it before I take a shower, so I can clean up the clippings easily. Inexpensive, so innovative. And saves me money on a fixed income.

Excellent product for keeping my hair in check - I've been grooming my own hair since 2003, when I became tired of stylists / barbers who simply did not do good work. Originally, I found an old version of a double-blade trimmer we used as kids. This Seki Edge trimmer is a slight upgrade from the one I used then (the old one is worn out a bit, so the Seki product works better). The Seki product is for left or right handed use - no need to keep switching the handle, as long as you are adept with either the right or left hand. If you have not used one of these before, take it easy at first and get used to it. Seki is great product, has two double edge blades for trimming and thinning one's hair. I use it every fortnight or two weeks, because that way it becomes easier to keep that "trimmed look." Also, you may want to invest in an adjustable battery-operated hair trimmer (Remington, Norelco, Braun, whatever) - to finish up any "frizzies" on the sides and back - must have saved a bundle over the years, too.

This is an excellent product and very easy to use. I have been using feather blades for wet shaving for 3 years now, and have grown accustom to the sharpness. If you are new to feather blades use caution, they are by far the sharpest and best blades on the market! My recommendation would be ease in to the haircut on first use, setting the dial at the 1 setting as to not be too aggressive as you’re learning the tool. My only critique of the product is there are only very very basic English instructions with the detailed instructions remaining in Japanese. Seki if you choose to sell in the English-speaking world you owe it to your customers to publish proper English instructions! Other than that, this an excellent product which allows you the flexibility to keep your haircut fresh, and will save you hundreds of dollars in haircuts annually along the way!

他の方も書かれてますが、私も子供の頃にSABOを愛用していたひとりです。 電動バリカンを買うつもりでいたのですが、 ひょんなことからこちらの商品を知り、いてもたってもいられずその晩にポチッとしてました(笑) 翌日の午前中にさくっと届き、気分はMAX。 すぐに髪をカットしてみたかったのですが、 一日寝かせてお風呂に入りながらさっそく試してみたのが今日の午前中でした。 感想ですが、「軽くて使いやすい」。 刃が調整でき、かつ髪を多くカットできる面と軽くさっさとすくことのできる面とあり 軽くすくことのできる方で何度かやってみたのですが、 あまりに軽くて鏡で確認をしないとどの程度すいているのかわからないほどでした。 髪をしっかり濡らしてしまったため、乾いてからのことを考えてあまり多くやりませんでしたが 子供の頃に利用していたSABOよりも使いやすく、便利です。 SABOもこの商品も、髪をとかす感覚で髪をカットできるのですが SABOはどんなに軽くやっても引っかかる感覚があり、痛かった(笑) ところが、こちらの商品はその傷みもなく実にスムーズです。 私は年齢の割に髪の量が多く、両サイドが伸びてくるともっさりしてしまうのです。 それを軽くとかすように左右同じように使うと、思っている以上にごそっとすくことができ 自分のイメージしている髪型に近づけることができます。 ただ、これは慣れが必要だなあ、というのが正直な感想です。 長髪の方がいきなりこちらを利用してきれいさっぱり…といくのは難しいでしょうが ある程度短髪(私は少し耳にかかる程度の長さ)の方なら、自在に調整できるのではないでしょうか。 刃を一番影響ないポジションにセットして、さっさとやれば、10分程度でこざっぱりできる気がします。 私も鏡を見ながら15分ほどでカットでき、満足です。 替え刃を購入しておりませんが、こまめにカットするのならば買っておく方がいいでしょうね。 またまた自画自賛ですが、いい買い物ができたな、と思います。
