Fun Game that sparks Conversation and Debate
Pick your poison is fun to play with a group, but I also had fun just playing with my teenager (not keeping score, but talking and laughing). The goal is to get the most points and there is a structure to it, but the fun is really in just discussing why you each pick the specific poison. Since my extended family is not the best at chatting it up, I sometimes rely on games to make our get togethers more lively. Thankfully, this game (played with 9 people) kept everyone engraved and entertained. I'll post some card examples, but you try to make the poisons equally dreadful so that all the votes don't go heavily to one poison. Overall, it's an enjoyable game and we have gotten a lot of laughs out of it.Though not a Halloween specific game, I'm having a Halloween get together and we are going to play it. So just an added bonus there.

Okay, but...
This game had great reviews, especially for families. It might be entertaining for younger kids. I purchased it for my middle school aged boys and they weren't that thrilled. Neither was I. After you figure out how to play, it was "fun" for about 30 minutes.

So much fun, and doesn't have to be structured!
I think the directions for how to play this game are great, but the reason I bought it was for the ability to pull 2 cards, and ask "Would you rather ________ or _________ " while sitting around a campfire and everyone can answer and share why they choose the answer they did. No cards to pass around, you don't need to sit at a table to play, you can just pull cards, ask the question and laugh at the responses! My favorite one so far is "Would you rather go to jail for 10 years for a crime you didn't commit, or gain 250lbs you can never lose". The answers to that one were hilarious!!Maybe one day we'll play it based on the directions, but for now, it's a quick and easy fireside game!

Hilarious and very weird
The more creative each person is, the funnier this game is! You must decide between two awful things -- they could be REALLY awful, or simply annoying. It is the roll of each player when they are the judge to make the two choices equally horrible so the other players split their vote when they "pick their poison."For example, one choice was "have arms where your legs should be". Before voting, the other players ask the judge for clarity: Do the "leg-arms" have elbows that bend in the same directions as knees would? Do you still have feet or do you have hands where your feet would have been? Are the "leg-arms" the size of your legs or the size of your arms? The judge gets carte blanche to answer any way they want, based on how horrible the other choice is. The questioning and judges answers are the best part of the game. We could barely stop laughing. Then when all players have satisfied their curiosity for both choices, everyone votes. Unanimity is bad for the judge's score. A perfect split of the votes in half is bad for the other players' scores.
