The Panama hat is 100% handmade with braided fibers of the palm known as Paja Toquilla (Carludovica Palmata). First, the stalks of the plant undergo a process where they are harvested, cooked, and dried. After this process, the fibers are ready to be woven into a Panama hat. Ultimately, it may take anywhere from 1 day to two months to weave a Panama hat.
