I converted a semi-finished basement area for a sewing and quilting room for my wife. She needed much more light than we currently had from 4 recessed can lights, even with bright bulbs. For less than the floor lamp she was looking to buy, I was able to upgrade all four lights and now she has plenty of light and can focus it right where she needs it. Super easy to install (5 minutes) and gimble is stable and stays put when angled. Happy wife, happy life.

We added these lights in our primary bath, hallway, and kitchen. They were easy to install and made things much brighter than the older lights we had in those places. We're delighted with them.

The way these are installed, they are fairly difficult to put into existing cans. he only wayh managed to install these, is by removing the can, or by cutting rectangular holes in the can's side for the spring loaded clips of the lights.These are really meant for new install situations. When doing a retrofit project, some locations may benefit from a gimball style light, and in that situation, they are hard to place into an existing can. They also havre a bit different dimming curve from other fixed style retrofit led lights. So if several of these are on a shared dimmer, along with some fixed led lights, the fixed and gimball lites will be not dimming the same way. The gimball lights will remain brighter than the fixed lights as you dim the group.

I am electrical contractor and I have used these a couple of thimes. They are very easy to install. They have a consistent light level and color, even when dimmed. I will continue to use these.

PROS:* Perfect color 5000k is nearly identical to the sunlight coming in from the windows next to it. Lights up my fireplace area.* No flickering, just solid light.* Bright! Really helps light up the room making board games and family time work out well.CONS:* Too bright for my 8 foot tall ceilings. I would love if Torchstar could offer a 5-7W version of these.

The gimbaling works great, and installation is a snap. Many other lights the Gimbal doesn't rotate at all or are limited in their motion. This one has the greatest flexibility in direction from any of the others I've worked with. The finish on the plastic housing is high quality and won't detract from an upscale living space.

The build quality of the lights was decent, with packaging robust enough to survive shipping and still arrive intact. The gimbal pivots a good distance in both directions along one axis and rotates in place, so it's easy to find just the light pattern you're looking for. Note that the CRI90/13W/5000k variant is VERY BRIGHT, if that's what you're after. I may need a dimmer now, but that's on me.Installation was a bit more challenging than expected. I assumed these would be easy pop-in replacements for my 5-inch cans, but that wasn't the case. Despite moving the spring clip retainer to the 5" position, 2 of the 3 lights were simply too wide to fit. The one that DID fit was a struggle, and it didn't sitting flush with the ceiling. The problem is that the coil size of the springs (see the comparison in one of my pictures - the 'new' springs are on the left) is simply too wide for a 5" can. Mine measure 5 inches across, so I'm not hallucinating. I ended up wrestling the spring clips off of the old lights and installing them on the new ones, which made the size just slim enough to install.The end result was good, but what should have been a 15 minute job took over an hour. Not a disaster, but something to be aware of if you have 5" cans.

I bought a 4 pack of lights and I was able to install in just 10 minutes. They are very bright and I love the white light it produces. Very nice feature is that I was able to adjust the light to where I really needed it most.
