Top-Notch Choice for MP3s and FM
I've bought a few of these little radio/MP3 combo units over the years. This is the best one I've come across, mainly owing to superb audio fidelity, workable MP3 navigation, intuitive controls and quality FM reception. What you get with most of these little players is the ability to put in a 32 GB micro SD card, potentially containing thousands of audio files - and then no way whatsoever to navigate among all of those songs except to push back or forward over and over and over to creep through the whole music inventory one track at a time. So, unless you just want to roll through all of your audio tracks one by one, they're not really that workable. Not so with this Tecsun ICR-110. On this unit you can instead key in tracks by number. That track will then be played, and the player will continue on from that point, playing the next one in sequence and so on until you key in a new number (or shut it off). When you copy tracks to your micro SD they will be ordered by the player in the same sequence in which you copied them into the card. So if you want things to play in a certain order all you have to do is drop them onto your micro SD in that order. (If you don't care what order in which songs will play, you can just select and drag them all at once.) Another good way to achieve this is to use multiple folders on your micro SD. If you do that everything in each folder will be numbered together in the player's memory, so you can note that folder A starts at track 1, folder B starts at track 63 or whatever, and so on. What you get here is just about as good as it gets without touch-screen navigation.Sound quality is exceptional for a unit this size. Lots of bass without a muddy sound, crisp treble, nice volume. I don't think I've heard many other things this size that will challenge this. I actually think this sounds better than a $100 Bluetooth speaker I have that was made by one of the premium audio brands.FM is very sensitive, and the keypad makes tuning the stations in super easy. If you want 92.3 FM you just key in 923. No enter button needed. As soon as you press the last digit of the frequency the radio immediately goes to that station. AM reception is so-so, which is really the only weak spot of this device. There seems too be a fair amount of internally generated noise that affects AM, but it's not noticeable on strong local or regional AMs. This isn't the radio for long distance AM listening, but given its strong performance in every other area that's not too serious an issue.Controls are outstanding. Mainly this is because there are enough buttons that there's one for each function, and each button does what it says it does and that's it. On other units I've purchased, operation is confusing because one button does five different things and you can never remember whether you need to short press, long press, tap this one twice while holding that one, or whatever. The MP3 recording feature offers great quality voice reproduction. Easy to navigate from your MP3 library to your voice recordings - there's a button just for that. Great to carry around to make voice notes, record meetings, and so on.The provided rechargeable battery is user-replaceable, a huge advantage. Just open the battery door and put the battery in, just as if it were a disposable battery. The battery is also commonly available, which I appreciate, just in case the supplied battery were ever to stop holding a good charge.

Be sure not to get a refurb or blem. Spend a little more.
Fairly sure I got a bad unit. The display has multiple dead elements so a 6 might look like a 1... The sound is buzzy and the volume goes up 10% for each step until you get to 6-then it doubles. No way to get a nice volume out of it in my environment. Were I in a bigger area, I could use it on 6-7, but now 5 is too low and 6 is waaaaaaaaay too loud. And still, the sound suffers too much gain.No way to tune the unit, the numbers must be entered. A really stupid radio-the red is pretty. This was a poor purchase decision.

It is a bit bigger than expected but a nice radio
I have not recorded yet but it is a nice radio. Good sound, tuning and easy to use. It has long battery life which is nice. One problem is that I doesn't indicate how much battery power is remaining. It does show a battery symbol from time to time but I have not been able to determine from it how much battery life is left. It just shuts off and then you know the battery is dead. This is more than compensated for by it's long battery life. And another nice feature. You can listen to the radio while charging the battery. Most radios get interference while charging the battery making listening impossible but this radio sounds fine while charging the battery. The radio is bigger than I expected. You can stick it in a large pocket but it is larger than the typical pocket radio.Over all I really like it. It is loud and clear enough to listen in the car. When traveling in areas of bad radio reception I turn on my cell phone radio and hook the output to this radio and can listen to the radio in the car where I get cell phone reception but not radio reception.

) Tecsun radio and I love each of them
This is my 5th(!) Tecsun radio and I love each of them. When I ordered the ICR-110, I thought it was going to be the same size as the ICR-100, but was surprised when it arrived how much bigger it is. The increase in size seems proportional to the sound quality that comes out of it. The ICR-100 really puts out the sound, the the 110 literally trembles in your hand with bass when listening to FM stations and MP3 files. It really fills a room. For me, however, I bought it mainly for the AM bands and am very happy with the performance. The sound is rich and it has great sensitivity. In my case, it also does double-duty as an external speaker for another (non-Tecsun) shortwave radio I use on occasion to give it better sound as well as to be able record the incoming audio at the touch of a button.I also love the ATS feature for filling the channels with stations. The other cool thing is that if you add channels manually and power it off and back on, it automatically orders the channel by frequency in ascending order. All in all, this is a great radio. Very pleased with the purchase.

Keep looking, this is not the radio you want.
The one i got was used. I paid for new. The buttons are worn out and only respond 30% of the time. I just wanted it to record talk AM and it can't even do THAT right. There is internal SD card writing noise audible on the one hour long (max) WAV files this recorder creates. When recording music... don't even try it. A microphone recording a speaker would do a better job. I ordered the red one and I did get a red one. After that, its a fail.

Excellent radio good reception, but buttons occasionally get stuck
A nice little radio and recorder. I got this to record breakfast with the Beatles on Sunday mornings here in LA. The only problem I have with the radio is the buttons don't make definite contact the first time you press them. For example , it's a bit of a hassle having to press the record button once or twice to get it to start recording. Yet despite this I am very happy with the radio and have been recording breakfast with the Beatles ever since we bought it. It does break down your recordings into hours, so if you record a 3-hour show you will get 3 - 1 hour recordings.
