Tough as a Cobb. Which is a good thing. Actually shocked me just how tough they are. The largest one I just bought had to be mounted exactly where I needed an extra swivel front seat. So quess what. I drilled and set the swivel base dead center of the Lid and installed my front swivel seat. So I still have the front storage and got my front swivel seat all in one. Mind you, I'm a builder and 6'2" and 225 pounds and I could not be happier with the results. Soo if you need an awesome tough deck lid and wondering if these are worth the money then you can rest assured these are definitely worth every penny. And I've bought at least three for this personal boat alone. So

Absolute Junk. The latches on this hatch are completely under-engineered for the job. It is not a matter of if they will break, only when. I purchased two of these hatches for an interior access project on my trawler. Both hatches have failed latches. They both failed within a few months of installation and after only maybe 20 cycles. Parts are not available. No support options. Do yourself a favor, if you are going to go to the trouble of cutting access hatch locations in your expensive fiberglass boat, buy decent hatches. In my installation, they are inside so they are protected. An annoyance, but not critical. In an install where they are exposed to rough weather, these hatches could sink your boat.

Appears durable ,easy install,funtions right

Purchased 2 of these for my son’s fishing boat for 2 storage areas. . Solid. Fair price. Looks great.

The hatch seals well and I have no complaints about water intrusion. However, the latches that secure the hatch are not particularly durable and are prone to breakage. I have had to reorder this product twice. I built my own boat, so I constructed the framing for the hatch around the size of this product. There are not a ton of options from other manufactures, but I have found another. If this breaks again, I am going with a different company.

Went into my casting deck floor easily. Plenty of overhang to oversize the hole a bit and still get screws installed. Latches work well and can be adjusted for tightness with a screw underneath. I can easily stand on this @200 lbs. without feeling it flex.

Bought 2 of these to put hatches in live bait storage on my 26 foot Stripper. They didn't last a season. H8nges broke on them both. Where they are there is no foot traffic and no one sits on them. Very disappointed
