A great concept hijacked by religious intepretation
I learned the pyramid of success 10 years ago through Coach Wooden's website. Recently, I thought of reviewing the concept and ordered this little book. While I continue to be aspired by the concept of pyramid of success and Coach Wooden's own words, I am very annoyed by Carty's writing. It really turned me off by his narrow interpretation of the pyramid. Sometimes, he really was talking about Bible, not the pyramid. Although not a Christian, I had studied Christianity for years and I am fond of many good ideas of Christianity. If I am annoyed, I think most of the non-Christians will be.If you are not a Christian, you should not order this book. And, for Christian like Carty, you don't need to read this book either. Just read your Bible. It is supposed to tell you everything you need to know anyway.Nevertheless, as a follower of pyramid of success, I recommend the concept of the pyramid highly. 10 years after I was first exposed to this concept, I had found I had improved myself because of it. In short, as a vice president of a company, I had found "Loyalty" indeed a base stone of the success. The company has to be loyal to the employees and the employees have to be loyal to the company. This sounds like an old fashion talk in the modern world. But, if you don't have the 5 lowest stones, your success would not sustain.

Great little book.
Got this for my daughter who is a great softball player. Recommended to use as a book report but anyone would love this little book with great info. It's nice because you can just pick it up and read a few pages if you don't have time to read the full book cover to cover at one siitting like me. Very inspiring.

Words of Wisdom from Coach Wooden
I really enjoy the teachings of Coach John Wooden and got this for a friend. He found the writing very inspirational and has read it through more than once. It's a nice small sized book that's easy to carry. If you are a fan of Coach Wooden's Pyramid of Success, snatch one, or a couple, up.

Every coach should have a copy of Coach Wooden's Pyramid of Success Playbook
I love this book. I love the way Coach Wooden blends his coaching toughts and values with his personal values and morals. This is more than a sports manual - people is any leadership capacity will find this book of great value. I often buy and give it out as a gift and the recipients are always extremely grateful to receive it!The book is divided into one or two page chapters each dealing with a different topic. Whether you are looking for a motivating story to share with your athletes or trying to figure how to challenge you co-workers at your worksite, this book has something for you.I love the small convenient size - it easily fits into a pocket, purse or briefcase and can travel with you everywhere.

This is NOT the actual book, more of a guide TO the book
This is NOT the actual book, more of a guide TO the book. I expected a more motivational-type of book, not a 25-page daily plan.

God is great...wait, what? I wanted a sports book!
I am so dissapounted by this book. It reads like something out of a bible class! Everything in this book keeps going back to God, which is so irritating! Let me be very clear...Talent comes from hard work, not from a made up being that our ancestors made up for their own selfish gains.Unreadable book if you are not religious or a Christian (practising) Its just so corny and an absolute travesty that something which could have been so great, turns out to be a big promotion for god...On the other hand, if you love the bible and god then this book is 5 star :-)
