Definitely minimizes stooping over & allows greater control
I just used in on @ 6" of snow instead of paying the plow guy $40. The grip part was loose around the shovel pole but that is much preferred to it being too small (in which case would not work for that shovel). To keep it from moving around the shovel pole in a circular motion or up & down the shovel pole, I marked with nail polish where I liked it positioned & used electrical tape around the shovel pole to make a tighter grip. Definitely minimizes stooping over & allows greater control so you don't dump snow while you are still over the sidewalk. It may not hold up for a strong guy who muscle throws heavy shovel fulls of snow, but if you have that much, you would probably use the snow blower anyway. I think I will prefer this stiff/solid secondary handle to the flexible steel strip type second handle of the Snow Joe Shovelution. I got one of those too but haven't used it yet.

Back saving shovel attachment
As someone who has had 3 back surgeries I'm very paranoid about "break braking labour". We got 20 cubic yards of wood chips to spread around our house and I new shoveling all that was going to be a problem. The HEFT PLUS to the rescue. This shovel attachment has been great. I had a very old long wood handle shovel. It has overall been great and saved my back although I had do some easy modification. For grip the HEFT Plus has rubber pads where you attach it to the shovel. These sheered off after about 30 minutes most likely due to the diameter of the shovel handle I was using which was bigger then they were designed for. I ended up just wrapping the shovel handle in good duct tape and that with the rubber pads removed fit my shovel perfectly and kept the HEFT Plus from slipping. I would highly recommend this to anyone back problems or now.

Major flaw, but the fix is easy
As others said, it's useless until you add a screw to secure it to your wood handle. But once that's done, it works really well. Have had mine for seven years.

Works great up until it doesn’t
Great idea, failure on execution. The product worked great for about 30 mins. Those 30 mins saved a lot of lifting and torquing on the back. However, after that, the glue that secures the rubber pieces to the lift start coming apart. The rubber pieces eventually fall off completely and when they do the product doesn’t stay in place and is useless. Now I’m left with a shovel that has glue all over the shaft of the shovel. So not only is the product defective, now my shovel needs to be replaced. Way to go with the cheap materials.

does NOT fit most of my shovels
Works nice but does NOT fit most of my shovels, not even the ones with fiberglass shafts. Jim Y

Great idea, but slides around and off easily
I was excited to get this since using a many of these tools is hard on your back. You are always bending and pulling and afterwards you wonder why your arms are so sore. This attached very simply and that is the issue. Too simply. It would slide around and come off the shaft unless you were careful. So, great idea. Needs some better attachment options - maybe screws? But the positive is that it is lightweight, and the shovel type handle is right where you want it.

A real back saver.
This item is a real back saver ! It was recommended by a friend who has back trouble & I can see why . The 1st time I used it on my new ‘snowplow ‘ shovel I had 2 neighbors come over to check it . It’s easy to put on the handle, can be adjusted to a comfortable position & sturdy. No tools necessary.

Well worth the cost to save your back
Like other reviewers have said the Heft handle tends to move or detaches with use , that said instead of drilling through it I found that 3 strong cable ties solve that problem . When it’s secured it works really well , your back will appreciate it and it enables you to lift a substantial load ( in my case snow ) without straining your back . I did not think it would make such a difference but after using a similar product when shovelling a neighbours walk ( used theirs when they were away) I was sold on the beauty of the two handle shovel. As long as you are willing to secure it I think it’s a great addition to any shovel.

Es gibt 2 Versionen: für dünnere und für dickere griffe. Ich hatte Glück und der Griff passte. Der Griff ist eine erhebliche Arbeitserleichterung beim entfernen vom wucherden Gras.

Found after a couple of tries it was easy to attach to implements handle and that as claimed took the strain off my back whilst digging the garden soil. This was important as I have lower back spinal damage which when using a spade or rake starts to pinch nerves and I have to stop for a few hours.
