Poor design, by Apple.
This cable, by its original design, is meant to wear out. It has a wide plug with small cable coming out of it, and at that point the cable insulation will break. Soon. No matter who makes it or how. It needs a strain relief; I use Shoe Goo, coating it on the cable and plug, so that the cable doesn't flex at the point it enters the plug. You'd think someone would have changed the design by now, but instead Apple has gone to using standard USB plugs on its newr models.

Disappointing: Fell Apart After First Use
I tried to use this power cable on my vintage iPad, but the plug literally fell apart after the first use. As a result, I cannot recommend this power cable.
