I had a very weak and under weight guinea pig that refused to eat the oxbow critter critical care when I had to syringe feed him for under weight due to teeth problems. So I did some research and found this food and he absolutely loved it. I mixed it with a little water and some non sweet apple sauce or vegetable baby food, and he ate it. It's a great change from oxbow since it's so grainy and hard to get your pet to eat. Mixes well to get into syringe or thick for spoon feeding. My guinea pigs prefer this over other Critical Care product. Does the job and helped my piggies recover.

This was really good when I needed it for my senior bunny when she was sick.

I have an elderly guinea pig who we thought we would have to put down nearly 10 months ago due to gut issues. He recovered after a clinic stay and did okay but didn’t thrive. He continued to be seen by the vet, and about 4 months later they gave us a package of this critical care food with instructions that it could be watered down and syringe fed. We adapted this to make a moist paste, shredded in a little apple and put it in a dish. He gobbled it up. He has now become a fully recovered, happy piggy but still expects and calls out for his critical care food every afternoon. He doesn’t really need it anymore - he has returned to normal eating habits - but since he still asks for it, we give him a small amount daily as a fail safe way to keep his nutrition steady.

This stuff is great. We tried it as an alternative for our guinea pigs when we couldn't get critical care a few years ago. All our rescue guinea pigs have preferred the taste of this. We always keep some in stock and I wouldn't go back to critical care again unless I was in a similar predicament and this was out of stock! Recommend anyone with guinea pigs or rabbits keep this in stock for emergencies. It never goes off!

Recently, my guinea pig has fallen ill and the vet recommended the Emeraid to aid in her recovery. Unsurprisingly, vets do charge quite a handsome for a small packet. Knowing that my guinea pig's condition is going to be long-term, I decided to purchase this from Amazon as the price point is more affordable. My guinea pig loves them better than Critical Care for some reason. I find the smell to be more pleasant with a minty undertone.

Anybody who's had a guinea pig knows that they LOVE eating. But I've never seen our guinea pigs enjoy food as much as this! We're feeding the Emeraid to one piggy as prep for her surgery later this week. She's mostly lost her appetite, so it was really nice to see her going bananas for the Emeraid. I don't give much to the other two, just a bite or two ... but they also go bananas. Seems like this stuff is "catnip for guinea pigs." Which is a huge relief because it is not fun trying to feed a sick pig without an appetite. Glad we gave Emeraid a try, highly recommended.
