Microplane Premium Classic Zester (Classic Blue)

This Microplane zester is excellent. It feels very sturdy, well made, and performs extremely well. The quality is noticeable right away, and grating is smooth and effortless. It is more expensive than basic options, but it is absolutely worth the investment. I would especially recommend it to people who truly enjoy cooking or use their kitchen more seriously. Casual cooks may not notice the difference, but cooking enthusiasts definitely will. Overall, a high quality tool that delivers great performance and lasts.

If you struggle (as I did) using the garlic press for ginger - this microplane zester does the job. It is extremely sharp and easy to use. Highly recommended. Good quality and nice design. Perfect size.

I really like this zester. I have only used it so far for cheese, lemon peel, and garlic. It did a nice job on all three items. The blades are very sharp and it is very easy to clean. I especially like the protective cover. The handle is a good length and comfortable to hold. It is a nice size. My previous zester was shorter and fatter and I like this longer thin one better. I have been placing the tester across my pan or dish to use so cannot speak of slip resistance. It seems to be well made so I expect to be using it for several years at least. Update: My daughter saw mine and wanted one just like it. Purchased for her Christmas stocking in a color to match her kitchen!

Excellant quality and performs so much better than other tools I own. I used a whole lemon. It was so quick and neat as well! I can't wait to try ginger and cheeses! And the blade is made in the great USA!

This is the second Microplane I’ve purchased—the first one for myself and the second as a gift—because it’s just that good. It’s extremely sharp, which makes zesting citrus effortless and gives you light, fluffy parmesan shavings without any struggle. The blade glides smoothly, doesn’t clog, and feels sturdy and well-made. If you cook or bake regularly, this is one of those tools you’ll reach for constantly. Highly recommend.

This is a must have. Is super easy and efficient. Zest doesn't cling you can actually gauge the amount.

This is well-executed device with great visual appeal. It holds well in hand and it is sharp. It will do fine work for citrus. As for parmesan cheese, the filings may be perhaps too fine. The strength of the cutting blade is achieved by folded profile of the blade itself. While this is elegant, if the blade is ever bent by too much of a force, it will be nearly impossible to fix it. So, do not put too much pressure on it while working free-hand. It can be held flat on a cutting board. Then it should sustain lot more of pressure. Do not discard the handy plastic cover. Without it, left in a drawer, it will get blunt quickly. It is probably a useful gadget for those who do a lot of zesting. For casual need, a box grater will suffice.

Wirecutter recommended. Sounded good, IS wonderful. I zest a lot of oranges and lemons, and this is so much easier, faster, neater, easy to clean up from. It doesn't put hardly any smells and spray into the air. Instead it is saved in the fine shavings. Absolutely a go-to item if you zest. Also excellent shaving hard cheese for pasta and sauce. Much easier to use and easier to clean than the grinder I used before.

Microplane blade is in good quality and it is very sharp. You will received it as advertised

Thought I'd buy a proper Microplane as every decent chef has one, and while it's good, it's no better than my "go cook" one from TK MAXX which was half the price. It's also very narrow which limits what you can use it for. So, if you already have a grater, don't feel like you're missing out. If you don't currently have a grater, maybe look for a wider Microplane instead.
