This controller is easy to set up and functions nicely to control the two AVKANS LV20N cameras that we purchased for use in a worship center. The pan, tilt and zoom speed is easy to control based on how far you move the joystick. The default, programmable function keys allow you to turn AI tracking on and off on the cameras. Currently, however, you are unable to control the AI tracking mode (wide, normal or zoom) from the controller since AVKANS has not yet created visca IP control commands for these options. Hopefully they will do so soon, so the IR remote (only way to do it currently) will no longer be needed. The manufacturer answered email questions fully in less than 12 hours. Excellent support.

The AVKANS Super PTZ Camera Joystick Controller is perfect for video production and livestreaming applications. The first two things that really impressed me is variable speed zoom and control protocol switched by camera and not by mode. That allows the controllor to switch protocols as you switch cameras! The variable speed zoom is great. This is the first PTZ camera controllor that I have found that has these features at this price point. The controls are layed out very nice and light up and that is great when the House lights are turned off. I tested the controllors differant contol protocols to see if any of them have limited control. Any Visca RS232, RS422 or Visca over IP configuration has full control. Some controls like shutter and iris do not work with RS485 Pelco P/D protocols but auto focus and auto white balance do work. Another feature that I like is the six configurable camera buttons. I like being able to switch camers with the touch of one button. If you have more than six cameras, you inter the camera number and press the CAM button. The backlit digital readout is very easy to read and shows camera name, address and port number plus control protocol. If you are using control over IP, you will also see the IP address. You can change the camera name to anything you want. Finding cameras on your network is very simple with the press of the search button. This controllor is compact and dose not take up much space. The controllor can be powered by the included power supply or by POE through a Cat5 cable. Camera presets are easy to set or reset and can be used by pressing the number and the CALL button. This is the best PTZ camera controllor I have used and I am very impressed.

Excellent unit. Setup was very easy. It scanned my network and found the camera immediately. And the user interface is robust, but simple to learn. Couldn’t ask for more.

Great product. The only downside of this product is that the screen is small but it still very usable.
