Childhood and Adolescence: Voyages in Development

The product description states this book is included in the Cengage Unlimited Subscription plan, however, what they do not tell you is it is an additional $119 to sign up for Cengage Unlimited through the publisher's website and that is only for 4 months access. Now I am in a bind because I needed this book, including the subscription to MindTap for a course that started yesterday. You are better off buying the loose-leaf bundle that includes a 6 month subscription to Cengage Unlimited.

If you want to learn a lot about childhood and adolescent development this is an easy to read, research based book.

I was required to buy this text for a developmental psychology course. Quite frankly, I was disappointed. The book is a little short on real-life examples. I also find the wording used to describe childhood depression and suicide off-putting. I do not think it was intentional, but there are sentences that sound as if the child is to blame for the condition, which is absolutely not true. On a positive note, the book does include vocabulary and has a nice, clear, and followable structure. However, I would not suggest this text unless the sections regarding abnormal psychology are revised.

I only needed this for one semester and it’s in good shape even though it’s used.

It came damaged. It looks like it was cut with a box opener maybe. It cut 3 pages on the back. I hope I don’t get charge for the book and this is just a rental. I did email customer service and sent the pictures as soon as I got it delivered.
