Best Least Expensive Dynamic Microphone
OMG!!! I have been singing on and off stage for over 15 years. I have been using many other people's equipment cause I never found that I needed to buy a microphone (never really sang INTO(ATE) the microphone, so I never worried about health concerns). Anyway, recently being in a cover band, I needed my own microphone. I purchased one not too long ago from a reputable brand and the microphone is good, just not for my vocals (Male Tenor I). I then searched high and low and remembered using a Senny e935 a while back that worked well but not well enough. I went on line and checked out one video of a guy using the e845 to record vocals and I was absolutely stunned. The crispness and clarity that comes from this microphone is unbelievable, I actually think it sounds better than the e935 (that is just my two cents). To end this review, I used this microphone last night in a practice environment where I had to strain my vocals with the previous microphone (unable to push the gain on that one). This microphone had me doubting, at first, if the rest of the band was playing loud enough. My vocals cut through the instruments without even the slightest strain. All the members were able to make out every last syllable; and even when I had to push the gain and volume up (for the harder rock tunes) this microphone was able to handle beyond most other microphones I have used in the past. If you are looking for a less expensive, but AMAZING microphone, the e845 is it. I haven't tried the e945, but I have tried the e935 and this beats it hands down.

Thess Mics sound great
Bought these mics to replace my old handheld mics and I was not disappointed. They came packed welled and on time. I am a DJ/KJ and sound is very important to me, and I can truly say that these mics delivered. I would highly recommend and would definitely bad again.

Great Microphone, A Little Prone To Feedback
So I previously had the benchmark for live sound, Shure SM 58. It was destroyed by some ham fisted movers a few years ago. I mostly was doing the karaoke thing in my home studio and didn't realize I bought an SM 48 as a replacement. I recently joined a band again and they were commenting that they could not hear me through the mix. I realized the mic was not a 58. I researched and was going to buy another 58 but the reviews were a little better on this one and I also got $20 off for a Warehouse Deal (used, but likely just a return). Anyway, this is a fantastic mic and a lot more clear than the 48. Is it better than the 58? Can't say, but I like it and am glad I purchased it.

Just as good or better
Great mic, a lot newer than the last one I owned. Just as good quality.

Great Product!
I use this microphone for lead singing while I am out playing with my church band. It cuts through the mix quite nicely! I absolutely love Sennheiser mics. This is the 6th one that I have purchased. I own another e845 along with three e867 condenser mics and one e965 condenser for use at rehearsals and worship services. I very highly recommend Sennheiser products!!

First class sturdy professional mic. Robustly put together, teriffic response, the genuine article is top class. I have two and they are excellent. A real SHURE SM58-beater. Prices vary, but take care not to go for an offer thats suspiciously cheap or you end up with far -eastern knock offs which look almost identical (the metallic colour is ever so slightly different when closely compared) and the frequency range is narrower than the real thing. Check the spec on the Sennheiser website against the spec on sale to be sure, or stay with a reputable mainstream seller. Even if you think you are paying a premium - its worth it!

For the last 20 years, I’ve been using Shure SM58 mics for live recording of 2 male vocalists with similar pitch. But there was an imbalance in their recorded voice quality, because singer #1 prefers to be very close to the mic (almost touching) whereas singer #2 moves around a lot, ranging from a half-inch to about 3-4 inches away from the mic. I just couldn’t figure out a solution for this. I stumbled upon this mic and after reading the reviews, I decided to give it a try, thinking it may solve the problem for singer #2 since it’s a supercardioid mic. It worked perfectly and the problem is now solved! I realised that the SM58 has a slightly more pronounced bass proximity effect, which was creating the problem because of the varying distance of singer #2. In fact, I’d say that the voice quality of the Sennheiser e845 is slightly (but noticeably) better than that of the SM58. The Sennheiser e845 has extremely transparent, clear, un-coloured, natural sound, and it works very well even when the distance from the singer to the mic varies within a range of 0-4 inches. The build quality appears to be as rugged as the legendary Shure SM58. I would strongly recommend this mic as a good solution for live vocal recording and broadcast.
