where were these made?

I looked on the shoe, but could not tell. The label inside is difficult to read. I can tell you these are exceptionally comfortable. I have a narrow foot and bought the narrow width 1/2 size larger than I normally wear to account for socks, and they were extremely comfortable the minute I put them on.

what is the heel height?

These wonderfully comfortable shoes have a 1.5 inch heel.

Is the sock liner removeable to add orthotics?

I'd buy a 1/2 size larger if I were you... Then take the shoes to a Cobbler . to have him/her remove the liner properly. I love thes shoes... I wear size 8......but bought 8.5 .
