Installed fairly easily on my sliding glass door. Seems like a sturdy decent quality lock.
I recently purchased a lock cylinder for my sliding patio door, and overall, I am very satisfied with the product. The installation process was straightforward, although it did require a bit of additional effort. The most challenging part was cutting through the tail, which I accomplished using an oscillating multi-tool. Despite this minor hurdle, the rest of the installation went smoothly, and the lock cylinder fit perfectly into the existing hole in my door. The lock cylinder appears to be of high-quality construction, which is reassuring for the security of my home. The materials used seem durable and robust, indicating that it will withstand regular use over time. Once installed, the lock operates smoothly, with no sticking or difficulty turning the key. This ease of use is particularly important for a frequently used door like my patio door.I also appreciate the design of the lock cylinder, which blends seamlessly with the overall look of the door. It does not protrude awkwardly or look out of place, maintaining the aesthetic appeal of my patio. Additionally, the lock provides a sense of security, which is crucial for an entry point to my home. Knowing that the lock is sturdy and reliable gives me peace of mind.In conclusion, I am pleased with my purchase of this lock cylinder. Despite the minor inconvenience of cutting through the tail during installation, the end result is a secure, well-fitted lock that enhances the safety and appearance of my sliding patio door. I would recommend this product to others looking for a reliable lock cylinder for their doors. It is a good investment in home security and demonstrates quality craftsmanship and thoughtful design.

works great WHEN INSTALLED PROPERLY
I had lost the keys for my old lock. I measured carefully and it matched the descripton so I ordered this lock cylinder. It arrived the next day, and I installed it, simple but not quite as simple as one might think. Since it was made to fit multiple applications, the tail piece must be cut to length. Too long and it will bind up. Too short and it will not lock or unlock. It doesn't have to be perfect, just understand the proper length may fall between the score marks. Mine did so I cut it with a hacksaw. when assemblying the key must be turned to the proper orentation. 50/50 chance of getting it right the first time. Wrong and you can't get the key out. After several attemps (my fault not the locks) I got it right, and it works easily and smoothly. Although it says no tools required, I used a screwdriver, a hack saw, and a file to smooth the cut edge. I am pleased with it and do recommend it.

Replacement for lock in Anderson slider
The lock worked perfectly to replace the corroded lock in an Anderson sliding glass door. Other readers had commented that the bar was difficult to break but the rod has indentations at regular intervals so it was easy to determine where I needed to break it. To break it, I used two pairs of electrical pliars -- hold the rod on each side of the indentation that you want to break and gently begin flexing the joint, increasing the amount of your bend as the rod begins to give way. Perfect, clean break. My only complaint is that the keys are very light metal and cannot be duplicated at a key shop; so when they bend/break/get lost I'll need to buy another lock. However, the price for this lock is so ridiculously inexpensive compared to Anderson-branded or other locks that I could replace the lock multiple times, if I need to, and still be ahead!

Replacement lock 🔐 for a Pella door.
I thought I would have a difficult time finding a replacement lock for a Pella brand door. Fortunately this lock fits perfectly and looks practically the same. It was easy to install except for the piece opposite of the keyhole was too long. Once I cut a portion of it off with a grinding wheel it was short enough to fit and was far less expensive than I first thought. Great replacement product!!!

Super easy to install
I moved into an apartment that had a sliding door in my bedroom that faced the street, and was completely open. It freaked me out not having any fencing or anything from a standard latch sliding door to my bed. I was able to punch out a hole in the existing hardware and cut this to fit. Now I can leave through the sliding door without worrying about the safety of my room.
