Barn Door Lock, 2", Fence Gate Lock, Double Sided Gate Latch, Shed Door Lock for Wooden Garage Vinyl Metal Gate with 5 Keys, for Right & Left Door

I got this on a whim for my side gate as the old original lock I put on it kept unlocking on its own. At first I was skeptical but after fitting it I am impressed, its basic, easy and works. The con is you have to have a key to unlock it from either side, not a terrible thing but no switch on the inside side to just open it. The pro is from a distance looking up my sideway from my back yard I can see if its locked or unlocked as the chrome looking lock bar stands out against the black metal brackets and the gate. So its a thumbs up.

Ordered 2 last year for a garage project and love these locks. Now that I have a wooden privacy fence I thought I would get another one of these. This one even came with its own drill bit for the lock cylinder hole. The only thing I would change is I wish the sliding rod was a little tighter, but it gets the job done. One thing for sure is they feel well built and sturdy even with the little looseness, highly recommend.

I installed this on an exterior door that has a tubular steel frame. Obviously couldn't use the provided wood screws so I used 3/16" rivets instead. The mechanism opens and closes with ease and is very solidly built. I purchased this because it is outdoors and the description claimed that the square bar is made of stainless steel. It came in a plain white box, unlike the package shown on Amazon, and a paper inside states that the bar is chrome plated iron which it appears to be, The keys are also not made from copper as also claimed but that's no big deal. Hopefully this wil last for many years with only occasional lubrication. I wanted to rate it lower, due to the false material claims, but it is strong and well constructed therefore I'm giving 4 stars. UPDATE: a month later and the hole, which for some unknown reason the bar has, is rusting inside. Obviously not stainless steel. (see picture). The reason I purchased this is because I wanted a stainless steel bar that would withstand being outside. Now let's see how long the chrome lasta before it starts to peel off.

Great parts upon arrival. Metal parts look very sturdy. There are 5 keys unbelievable! Screws look like stainless steel. Have not installed it yet but like to send a review as an appreciation. The only thing unsure is how it rust against weather conditions. Time will tell.

Do not buy- terrible quality. The keys don't work after a while and feels like it is about to break

Worked great on my backyard gate, allowed me to get rid of the padlock so I can lock/unlock the gate from both sides. I would definitely buy another.

basically like photos and description it's OK if you don't mind needing a key on both sides! I returned this item and kept manufacturer's better but much more expensive gate lock that has inside knob lock and outside key lock for the deadbolt.
