More fun with THE BIG BAD (?) WOLF
My grandsons and I are enjoying the many different portrayals of The Big Bad Wolf in a number of versions of the classic tale of The Three Little Pigs.In this picture book, the many animals of the forest are warning each other that the Wolf is approaching and they should hurry and hide. The ending is a delightful twist. The illustrations add to the suspense. I can always recognize when a book is a hit with my almost three-year-old grandson because I am asked to read it again two more times and then he “reads” it to his stuffed animals!I recommend.

Awesome book! Very fun read for small kids and grown ups!
This book is so cute! Great for toddlers with shorter attention spans because the text is brief and rhyming. The art is gorgeous with lots of little fun Easter eggs- my daughter loves finding the spider and the blue balloon which appear on multiple pages. Best of all it’s just a really cute concept for a story and has a surprise ending that is delightful and fun after a suspenseful story.

One of the Best Books
My grandson loves this book. We had been reading Fairy Tales like The Three Little Pigs and Red Riding Hood that have wolves in it. A friend gave me her copy of Wolf's Coming to read to him. It has a great surprise ending. After I gave the book back my grandson was so disappointed that I had to order one for myself.

Love this book
This book was read to us when my DS's school had a Parent's "Stay Play" I saw the reaction to the children as the teacher read the book and had to bring it home for him. When it arrived, his eye's lit up and he screamed Momma Wolf's Coming. He's 2.5 years old and loves turning the pages on this colorful book and repeating the words he remembers from story time. It's a really great book and I love just interacting with him as he excitedly talks about the book! I highly recommend this book to any toddler!

A great story.
My 2 year old granddaughter loves this story. I had to read it five times the first time I read it to her. She loves howling with the wolf and exclaiming "Surprise!" as we read it. The illustrations are great. A winner.

A home library keeper...for kids, grandkids, parents!
One of our favorite books. Had to buy another hard copy as ours got dog earred after a few kids :) It is suspenseful, even a might scary for some children as the wolf is drawn in the typical vein of big bag wolf. The end leaves the reader pleasantly surprised and asking, "again?!" The illustrations are some of the most detailed and colorful, text is big enough to read comfortably.

Surprise!
So our daughter came home from school and earnestly told us that Wolf is Coming. We weren't sure if this was some veiled and creepy Doctor Who reference or something else. Suffice to say, we were relieved when we finally learned that it's all about a surprise birthday party for their friend Wolf. He's not going to blow your house down; he's there for his party!

Wonderful Story Playing On Images And Text To Surprise Readers
Among the many pictures books I have read, Joe Kulka’s Wolf Coming impressed me for a long time. Which is due to its great story, but also excellent visual language.Tall shadowy figures, 1950s horror film lettering, dutch angles, dark lighting, and a looming wolf. Slowly approaching the Rabbits’ residence. With such a menacing and daring look it is evident he is on the hunt; ready to eat them. And those drawings start from the main page cover as he leaves his sinister house, with a sinister grin, and the forest’s animals see him approaching closer. Sending the warning that he is coming. Getting closer while everyone must hide. Especially inside the Rabbits’ house.Though as the story comes forth, another truth is revealed. Which I will not expose by respect for potential readers. But the ending can be guessed at if you look carefully at the drawings. For there are many clues pinpointing out to the story’s twist. One that I did not expect at first, but which shows quite well how a narrator can be unreliable.Through various ways. With the visual language I mentioned earlier, but also the poetry Joe Kulka wrote. Animals running in panic as the creature is approaching, telling each other to hide. And for some words, written out in colour instead of white lettering, their presence impacts the reading. Makes the situation more dramatic. And the character of the wolf more frightening. And what a great character design for the wolf. Like all the other characters, an anthropomorphic creature, wearing a blue suit with a red tie. Like other animals in the wood, wearing clothes. From the rabbits to the raccoons, the pigs, the squirrels, and the woodpecker, Joe Kulka did a great job drawing them. Giving them expressive personalities and sympathy for everyone. In their image display, the drawings are well composed and the colours, all done digitally, excellent in their day/night nuances. Working perfectly with the text to surprise the audience. In making it believe something when the truth is elsewhere.Making this story a clever reading exercise for readers, but also for families over their own prejudices and how they treat the information they see or read. Especially in this day and age where we are so constantly informed of many news, but never given the time to analyse and reflect what we see.In sum, Wolf’s Coming is a great read for any library and family, but also an entertaining story that makes readers ask many questions.A sharp read for all to own.
