It’s the third canon I’ve owned so it can’t be all bad!
I particularly like the document feed. This I need for thicker paper. It’s also has a cartridge feed which for normal copy paper; works fine. This model is almost exactly like the last model I owned, I don’t recall the number, and they both have one annoying feature which is you have to wake it up. If I print from another room I have to get up & go into the office and press the button. There is a way to override this. I’m sure it’s something simple. I don’t install the software on all my devices and that’s probably why.I’m careful with ink, its expensive. I buy high-yield cartridges & whenever possible print at 75% or smaller to save ink. It works very well. I don’t print photos so I dont know how well it performs. There is a suite of creative choices. I don’t really use them. I print invoices for the most part.I have found, and this is my third canon printer, after a couple years they just quit. One day they just don’t work anymore. This has happened to me twice but liked it well enough to purchase a third. I feel it is good for the money- a good economical product, a good value

Really great printer for a first-time printer owner
This is my first printer I've ever owned and by far it is a really good printer I had an easy time setting up instructions for really easy the only issue I had was trying to connect it to my phone or to my computer after a while I did get it hooked up and now I can print whatever I want the pictures come out phenomenal the color of it is really nice is for size 2 and I have I have not tried the fax on it yet so I don't know how that works I haven't copied anything yet so far I've only done Printing and so far it works really good the only problem is that it doesn't take postcard paper or a card paper where's a little bit thicker I was trying to make business cards and it just jammed the paper. Overall this is a really nice printer it does what you need to do this is my first printer and I really like it I would suggest this printer to a friend or to anyone else. And the price of ink is really reasonable and that was one of the main reasons why I chose this printer and so far what I've always already printed hasn't taken up that much ink I think if I was to do more pictures I would need to replace my ink more but other or not it's really nice.

So far, so good...
Bought this after buying a new Epson which would not stay online. This seems like a very superior product. Installation script was much better, able to use the standard Apple Secure AirPrint driver. Visible from iPhone right away. Much heavier and more solid feeling than the Epson. Has an enclosed paper tray and a rear-feeding tray for stiffer photo paper. Has a real touch screen. STAYS ONLINE :-)Nits: paper tray has a separate piece (dust shield?) which is awkward. Control panel must be flipped up and output tray opened in order to print. This results in a somewhat inconvenient control panel angle and potentially delicate condition (have cats) so it will have to be opened and closed when needed. At least the panel gives you a message with instructions and a picture.

does well looks good
got so could do fax, copies, and connect to computer and it does a good job. prints nicely and copies look like the original. nice size so doesn't take up a lot of space. print cartridges bit high and uses more ink than old printer; need to use few times a month to keep from becoming clogged but does the print job exceptional. connected easy but have to use the printer's display to do most of the adjustments (I prefer on computer since bigger screen) and my fingers doesn't always hit the right spot on display which gets frustrating but once set up, it's worth the money.

Don't buy this one...
I bought this during the early days of the pandemic. My old Canon, that I could l lapse lyrical about, died. I loved my old Canon. When Canon's tech support guy and I could no longer get it to work properly, I bought what the tech support guy steered me to. It was an emergency. Thus begins the months of frustration - that are sure to continue until this damn machine dies.It has taken me 2.5 months to be able to do simple things like get it print without borders. You know - that simple thing where you put a piece of paper in the copier and it prints the page? Not so easy with this one. You have to use the back tray that is designed for envelopes and choose the paper called "matte." Amazing. Why didn't I think of that? That's just today's weirdness, though. That bit where you pop on a thumb drive and hit scan? Hah! Not on this machine. No USB drive. Moreover to scan, unlike the old Canon, you have to use some utility on your computer. The Canon utility is designed much like the rest of the machine. Difficult at best. That bit where you just hit print on your computer and it does its thing? Not this machine. It defaults to an energy save mode - which might make sense if you were warned about it and had instructions about how to turn it off... While running up and down the stairs to turn on the printer before printing and then running back to get the copy made me feel like I was in a bad early 1980's office job. That bit where you just hit print on your printer? Nah. The button is on this flappy piece of plastic called a control panel that has to be flipped up so that the light hits you directly in the face because you need to look at to hit print. In fact you need to stab that thing repeatedly and touch sensitive it ain't.I could go on. And on. Don't get me going about the rear paper feed. Whoever designed this did bad, bad drugs. Just buy another machine. Your life will be easier.
