Artificial Sinew (5-Ply, 70 lb. Test, 300 Yards)

This artificial sinew is Not Nylon as stated in the product description. I wrote to the vendor RPGuns (Powell's Sporting Goods) since my project specified nylon artificial sinew and received the following reply:"My apologies. My boss did this without realizing there is a difference between the two types. Yes, we only have the "Poly" kind because it has no stretch to it and is also UV resistant. We do not have the more stretchy nylon. You may return it to:..."This is the same 'made in India', very waxy sinew sold by several other Amazon vendors. The 'more stretchy nylon' tends to hold better in my application - lashing together a skin-on-frame kayak frame. It also is reported to be less affected by oil than the poly sinew.I know that nobody reads 3-Star reviews but chose 3 because in many applications the poly sinew may work OK and the vendor did fess up to the description error. Hopefully they follow through and correct the description.Update 6/9/16: Upgraded to 4 stars as vendor RPGuns promptly accepted return of product and issued credit for the sinew + return shipping. This is good stuff. I just spent a good part of the day lashing stringers on a skin on frame canoe. This sinew doesn't break easily - I pull hard and use fraps to cinch the lashing down tight - the fraps can create a cutting effect but I did not have any breakage. The strands stay together well but could probably be easily separated if wanted. The sinew has enough wax to hold a knot very well. I have used a different brand of sinew before that I liked but the recent reviews on it have been pretty poor. I will continue to use this sinew as long as it stays at this quality..

So far i am extremely happy with this product. Had it about a week or more now and i am using it for making jewelry, such as necklaces and braclets mostly for men. As in very heavy chunky 8mm as the smallest up to 14mm beads type manwear and i am extremely happy with its performance as a general use cord. I have given it the stress test and it performs exceptionally well. The handling and application takes some getting used to but was recommended to me by an old jewelry making gipsy lady and i agree fully.

Upon initial receipts the item appears to be exactly what it says it is. I'm giving 4 stars as I don't know how well it will perform. I will update this as projects I create demonstrate whether the artificial sinew is good or not.
