This electronics kit has lots of components for you to use on the included breadboard to make all kinds of projects. You get lots of LED’s in a variety of colors, lots of resistors of varying resistance, a couple potentiometers, transistors, jumper wires, capacitors, two IC’s, and a 7-segment display. It even includes a power supply module, but the power supply to plug into it is not included. The breadboard is above average quality as the connections are secure unlike some boards. There are a lot of connections to play with, but it isn’t split in the middle to give another section to build with – only a minor inconvenience. It does have side connectors to attach other compatible breadboards together but none on the ends. The numbers and letters are easily read and align with each other, but I would prefer they be bolder and rotated 90°. It has adhesive tape on the back for permanent mounting, but no backer plate. Although there are lots of resistors and other components, they all have the thinnest leads possible which means you have to be careful inserting them into the breadboard or they bend. The capacitors provided are very low capacitance which limits their usefulness. Putting three of them in parallel does not provide enough capacitance to visibly light the LED after power is removed. If the lights are off, you can see the dim glow gradually disappear, but full brightness does not last more than a split second. Two sizes of push buttons make for a variety of uses as do other items. I received this product at no charge in exchange for an honest review. Would I recommend it? A qualified, yes. There’s lots for the novice electronics experimenter, but the quality isn’t as good as it could be, although, probably in line with most kits of this nature and price range.

I was fully prepared to give this 5 stars until the board supplying power caught on fire. The 3.3V worked just fine and has continued to work without issue, which suggests the problem is specific to the 5V components. Fire came through the top and bottom of the board immediately after the power was switched on. Luckily, I keep the main power switch on hand, otherwise this easily could have been dangerous. Everything else in the kit works perfectly, though. If not for how dangerous the 5V power ended up being, this kit would be excellent!
