Chucky: Complete 7-Movie Collection [DVD]

Great product, makes great gift

Mostly bought this for my intrest of the upcoming Childs Play Movie staring mark hamill which is a reboot of the first Chucky movie called Childs Play as well. While I never actually watched a chucky movie myself... As a kid I was pretty horrified about anything even dogs. As an adult my favorite movies are stuff like alien movies so I grown to enjoy the horror genre quite a bit and see that.... It wasn't really that scarry after all. So for me I view chucky as more like.... Soft core horror compared to like friday the 13th or nightmare on elms street after all since it's about an evil doll and well the horror movies I watch about an evil doll aren't that scary.... But to be far I never actually watch a chucky movie so it's one of the reasons I even bought it. I'll review the actual movies later. From my understanding the first half of movies is like a trillogy since it all has the title of childs play, childs play 2 and child play 3 so im guessing it has a continuing story line for the first 3 movies focusing on this kid called andy barclay and then the second half which is bride of chucky and seed of chucky which has comedy/horror mixed into it from my understanding which is why I don't take chucky so seriously, but the last half of the movies are curse of chucky and cult of chucky which are just supposed to be darker so hopefully it scares me. I mean I do find dolls creepy, but in movies it really doesn't bother me. I can talk about the box itself, enjoyable espeshaly the moving image were it's just chucky staring into your soul. Lot's of special features here too such as deleted scenes, gag reels, evil comes in small packages featurettes, spotlight on location, chucky: building a nightmare, inside the insanity of Cult of Chucky, Good Guy Gone Bad: The Incarnations of Chucky, Storyboard to Final Comparison, Feature Commentaries with Cast and Crew, and more but only for the 4 movies the childs play movies do not have any special features. I'm assuming it's only for region A because I can't really find what region code it is anywere on the box just for anyone who is curious. The box itself came slightly damaged and the blu-ray case was a bit broken on top but whatever as long as the disks are fine, shame no digital copies for this though even if it costs like 10+20 dollers more would have defently been worth it... Either way I think it's a great value for all 7 movies espeshally the 7th one that was only released back in 2017 so not that long ago.

I must admit, prior to buying this collection, I had not seen any Child's Play (Chucky) movie from start to finish. I had always caught a Chucky movie on TV in the middle and it has always intrigued me. When I saw this collection on sale for $24.99, I decided to buy it. I will break down this collection into 3 segments: First Segment: First 3 Movies: Child's Play 1, 2 and 3. First movie is the original and I think it is a very good horror movie for what it's trying to do. Its premise is quite similar to the The Twilight Zone episode "Living Doll" (Season 5; Episode 6) from 1963 although they have added more horror edge with camera angles and music and an animated puppet doll with facial expressions and more vocabulary. Second and Third movies follow the first movie's formula and its main characters, Chucky and Andy Barclay. Second Segment: 4th and 5th installments, namely "Bride of Chucky" and "Seed of Chucky" which have a different style and atmosphere than the previous 3 movies. This is where horror meets humor, new characters are introduced, mainly Tiffany Valentine which becomes an important character who appears in later installments. Third Segment: Sixth and Seventh installments, namely Curse of Chucky and Cult of Chucky which are serious horror films with very dark atmosphere. Chucky's comedic lines are still there but they are minimum and obscured by strong horror elements. Overall, I think this is a great set. I found myself watching the entire set on a weekend back-to-back without getting bored due to the movies having different styles and evolving in each installment. Don't be fooled by the low ratings on the Internet. Any movie in this collection deserves at least 3 stars if not 4 out of 5. Side note: Fiona Dourif, the daughter of Brad Dourif (the voice of Chucky in all movies), is an amazing actress. When I first saw her name, I thought to myself she was probably hired because of her father. This very well may be true but she is amazing and very impressive in her acting in both Curse of Chucky and Seed of Chucky movies. I might even go so far as to say that she breathes fresh life into those movies. She is also gorgeous. Please note there is a new Chucky movie coming out this summer (2019) but it's not made by Don Mancini who is the original inventor and contributor of these series, writing for the first 3-4 movies and directing the last 3 movies. I don't expect the new Chucky movie to be better than any of the movies in this set. My recommendation is get this set, you will enjoy it. Blu-ray transfer is very good, no blemishes or damages on the print.

Tutto apposto, arrivato nuovo,sigillato ed immacolato. La custodia è un amaray a 7 dischi con slipcase di cartone che fa la sua figura. I Blu Ray non sono tutti in audio ma lo sapevo già e conoscendo fluentemente l'inglese non è un problema (poi volete mettere il doppiaggio originale di Brad Dourif rispetto alle tante voci che si sono susseguite nel corso degli anni?) Quelli con audio italiano sono: La Bambola Assassina 2 La Bambola Assassina 3 Il Figlio di Chucky La Maledizione di Chucky Il Culto di Chucky Riguardo la serie poco da dire, un capisaldo dell'horror anni 80, col pregio, rispetto ad altre saghe, di essere riuscita sempre a rinnovarsi costantemente senza perdere lo spirito originario. Consigliato a tutti i fan dell'horror comedy.
