Experiences of a World Chess Champion!
Anand shares his experiences and insights into becoming a 5 Time World Chess Champion. It’s not just what you know on the board, but the behind the scenes that pull it all together to become a World Class Chess Champion. The ups and downs, with the support of family and friends. This is an excellent read with colored photographs at the end. Highly recommended for all chess fans and future chess champions.

Exceptional
GM Anand has always been universally appreciated in chess. This chess autobiography is direct, honest, and charming...just like him. One warning though: It's written to and for chess players. Non-chess players would probably find it awkward and boring...just like chess!

Good read, but lacks a solid identity.
I am an avid chess player and a big fan of Vishy. The book was good overall, but I gave it a four star rating because it didn’t seem to have a solid identity. It’s a little bit of a memoir, a bit autobiography, partly a chess book (obviously), and has a self-help aspect. I recommend if you want to learn more about how elite players prepare behind the scenes and think over the board.

Per my husband's review: "One of the best chess biography I have ever read."
Per my husband's review:This book is personal because Vishy shared his ups and downs, what it is like to compete on Chess World Championships, lessons which he learned from life. etc. Wow!I wish there would be more chess books like this.

Thoroughly entertaining and full of useful anecdotes. Vishy Anand has stories to tell and he knows how to tell them.

engaging
A nicely written book full of interesting anecdotes. A modest amount of chess knowledge would be desirable but not required.
