Exactly what I was looking for (just plan on airing it out!)!
I started practicing yoga a few years ago. At the time, I only did yoga once per week, maybe even once every two weeks. Before I started I picked up a $20 yoga mat from a local store, and this worked fine for use that was sporadic, at best.Recently I dramatically increased the amount I practiced, going from once every few weeks to 3-4 times per week. With this increase, my $20 mat began to slowly but surely fall apart. I started researching mats, trying to find one that would last. I was initially surprised at how much the mats cost, but with as much as I would be using one I figured purchasing a quality mat would be a good investment. The first mat I purchased was the Manduka Pro. I read so many good reviews about this mat I figured my searching was done. However, this was not the case. Regardless of what I did, that mat was too slippery to use. I will write a more in-depth review of the Manduka mat, but the short version is I followed the break-in instructions to a tee, doing several sea-salt scrubs (and scrubbing HARD), leaving the mat to dry in the sun (as instructed . . . but don't do this with the Jade), and it was still slippery. So I returned it, resumed my search, and came across the Jade. The first Jade I purchased was the Jade Harmony. I really liked this mat because of the grip. The traction was outstanding, but it was a little too thin for my tastes. My wife liked it, though, so we kept it, and I kept looking. I came across the Fusion in a local store and could tell it was the mat I was looking for. However, they only carried the 68" mat (I am only 5' 9", but I like to have room to move from pose to pose without having to reposition myself on the mat). I had remembered a larger Fusion from searching on amazon, so when I got home I immediately ordered it. When it arrived I knew I was done searching for a mat.The Fusion has the same grip as the Harmony, and it has just a little more padding. Traction is not an issue on this mat. This was my #1 priority when searching for a mat, and having used the Fusion for a few weeks now I can say that I have not slipped once. The two negative things I read about this mat were that it smelled and that it broke down after a few months. As for the smell, that is 100% true. I aired the mat out in my garage for two weeks before I even attempted to use it. It is an all-rubber mat, and that is exactly what it smells like. Maybe the smell won't bother you, but if you decide to order this mat, go into your purchase expecting that you won't be able to use it for at least two weeks because of the smell. I do not notice the smell anymore unless I am face down on the mat, and even then it is not that noticeable. As for the Fusion breaking down, if that does happen I will update my review to state this. I've used it for a few weeks with no problems, but if it does start breaking down quickly, I don't think it would be worth the cost. For now, though, I highly recommend the Fusion. If you are looking for a mat with superior grip, and a little more padding, this is it.UPDATE: 4/3/16 - I'm still using this same mat almost two years after my original review, and the mat is still in great shape. It is not breaking apart or showing the wear and tear I expected from this material. I still 100% recommend this mat.

Quality Off, Poor Support
I received/inspected/returned the 74 inch purple mat ordered from Amazon fulfilled by Jade a month ago. The quality of this item is inferior to the last 4 of these I've purchased over the years. Jade label on mat arrived curled up and pealed off easily, other mats showed no pealing even after years of use. I compared new mat to side by side to 1 year old mat in near-new condition. New mat compresses more (too) easily than older mat. Also while new mat is exactly 24 inches wide, as specified, old mat is actually 24.25 inches wide. I suspected this to be a knock-off (fake) product. I requested a refund from Amazon and received Return Authorization with intent to order directly from Jade. I then noticed that Jade is the seller/source for this order. Jade replied that they have not made any major manufacturing changes, width varies slightly and that they sometimes miss heating thermo labels and that I could glue it on. Not the level of help I expect from a company that sells $140 yoga mats.

With the jade fusion I feel like I have it all.
I wanted to wait until I had used this mat enough to be able to give a review that would hopefully be helpful. In some poses my knees and elbows hurt because the mat I had been using previously was just a cheap mat. I did not want to spend a lot of money on a mat until I began doing more yoga. Now I go on average 4-6 times a week. I did a lot of research before deciding on the jade fusion mat. At first I became overwhelmed with the choices. No mat seemed perfect for me. Would I sacrifice comfort, going into poses deeper or balancing? I am so glad I did the research and found jade. With the jade fusion I feel like I have it all. The stickiness helps me go deeper in my poses without fear of slipping. I also have great comfort for my knees and elbows. I can do any balance pose and still feel firm and rooted. I love this mat!

My downward dog digs it
Ok first off I have only had it two weeks but I do hot yoga everyday sometimes at 105 degrees and also do yin yoga several times a week. In the hot yoga I am a pretty wet sweaty yogi so if you sweat this is the review for you. This mat as others have said will show sweat stains patterns and hate to use the analogy but at first will smell like a condom right out of the package real rubbery but do those things really matter. Are you a yogi or a bhogi? The important thing is it is really really nice on the knees and I can still do a deep warrior, so its a winner in the 5mm category there. Grip wise I am really really happy. I havent used my mat towel just to test it and my slip is almost nil in downward dog and none in the warriors...One thing i do have to say is that if you are going to travel with this like backpacking through India, it is one heavy beast. Personally I dont care about the weight as I use it at the studio, but my mother just got the Lululemon today 5mm reversible and although i have never tried it, it seems also real sticky and is for sure lighter. For me though I would for sure recommend this mat for anyone who is worried about or has knee problems. If you have any other questions you can contact me by telepathy at Aum Aum Aum.....See you at yoga yogis :)

Worth the money! Very good for tender knees and wrists.
This mat is very dense, and is perfect for someone who needs extra padding. I was carrying around 2 mats, a knee pad, and blanket. It was too annoying , so I finally splurged on this mat. It is so worth it! This is all I need. It is also extremely “sticky,” so it is even easier to ground down. I really think my practice has improved, and I am able to do some poses I could not do before. The only negatives are that it still has a slight rubber smell, and it is so sticky that every piece of lint, or dirt on the floor sticks to it. It is also a lot heavier, and needed a new strap, as it would not fit in my old bag. However the positives really outweigh the negatives, and I would make the same decision again!

but wanted a thicker mat like the Jade Fusion mat
The smell was not too strong and doesn't stop me from using the mat (I tend to be very sensitive towards smell). It is strange that different rubber based mats have very different smells. I prefer the smell of the tree mat from Yoga Mad, but wanted a thicker mat like the Jade Fusion mat. You can't have everything! Also, and this probably applies to all yoga mats, in spite of buying the extra long mat it is not really as long as I would like it. I could do with an extra foot at least. I have not had the mat very long yet. I find it very comfortable, but can't comment on its longevity.

Very comfortable for the spine and pelvis without being too thick and unstable. Ecological. And delivered swiftly. What more could I want? It's great.

Excelente agarre y amortiguación
Excelente amortiguación para las rodillas. Inmejorable agarre al tapete. Aún cuando sudes mucho y se moje el mat, no te resbalas.
