Parrot Mambo Fly

This drone is super fun to fly! So easy, but very fast if you dial up the max tilt/turn/ascend. The good: A blast to fly indoors or outdoors. Outdoors the range isn't super long, but I wouldn't expect that. Maybe 100 feet? If it looses contact with the controller, it hovers. Fast turning. Altitude hold works great. It's even easy to fly if you turn off the altitude hold I've crashed and crashed and with the hull on (prop guards) it is super durable. Once it makes contact, it shuts off and falls down. I've only lost one prop when hitting a bunch of bushes (don't ask). but I haven't broken anything yet. I even ran smack into a tree at FULL speed and nothing broke! Awesome! The not as good: The FPV googles are difficult to set up. It took me days to figure out how to connect them. And there is very little information on the web. I have to follow an exact process or they won't connect. Once they do connect, they loose the connection after a few minutes. And the range for the video feed is very short. I have to pretty much follow the drone around the house or it looses contact. I can't fly it into other rooms without following it. FPV connection procedure: 1) Fire up drone 2) Connect drone to phone app (it connects through Bluetooth) 3) Connect remote to phone app 4) Put camera on top of drone after already connected 5) I get a message that I need to connect via Wifi. So, I connect via WiFi 6) Now it's ready to fly with the googles. If I don't follow that exact procedure, it won't recognize the camera and can't be flown via FPV mode. But overall, for the price, I think it's very fun to fly and worth the money. So I'm giving it a 4.6 which rounds up to a 5. Note: The grabber and cannon shooter did NOT come with this version. Only the camera.

These Mambos are are very stable little drones, way better than the smaller MiniDrones. They don't have GPS, but they do have a down-facing camera and sensors and will take off and hover in place waiting for your next move. If you let loose of the controls, it stops and hovers until you figure out your next move. The FlyPad controller makes it _very_ easy to fly. You can use an Android or iPhone app to fly it but the touch-screen is nowhere near as precise as the FlyPad. for controlling the drone, IMHO. It's harder to fly these without enough light for the down-facing camera to see texture. In a dim room they drift around an don't hover as steadily. Most of my problems and crashes learning to fly it were from the smartphone app. When my FlyPad controller showed up, my drone piloting skills got much better much quicker. The app does have more options and settings, but the FlyPad connects quickly and does all of what I need to get practice flying the drone. The Mambo handles a lot like a Bebop 2, but at a couple ounces instead of most of a pound, the Mambo is safer to fly inside. I believe most of the skills practiced on the Mambo are transferable to my Bebops and whatever's next. I was a pilot most of my life and sitting in a cockpit at the controls was not helpful for learning to fly a drone! The Mambo has been the best for me, an elder geek, to learn.

The Mambo is a decent little quadcopter for beginners learning to fly. This purchase was just airframe because I already owned a controller from another purchase. The rotor protectors a great for indoor flying and also replaceable. The controller is simple and easy to learn and use. It has separate buttons for flips and rolls. I have many times lost telemetry between controller and drone, so I have to get closer and closer until they reconnect. ( not biggie but batteries are tiny, maybe 8 mins out of them, so when my drone is hovering for 1 min while reconnecting to controller, it’s using battery and not fun) The camera is low quality. The camera mount does NOT keep the camera secure on the frame. But, I didn’t purchase this little drone for the camera. It’s great indoors ! The Mambo is better quality than a toy quadcopter

I bought this drone primarly to fly indoors for fun. This is my second drone after the syma X4 which was very unstable and kept crashing. The parrot mambo is a fun mini drone which ticks many boxes like great stability, easy to take off and land, super fun ‘one button’ acrobatics. The biggest downside is the short battery life which is about 8 minutes without the camera and 6 with the camera mounted. Better buy with an additional battery pack

Fantastic little quadcopter. It responds well to my tendency to panic and release the controls...this thing has serious brakes, and holds position like a champ even in light winds. I have the FPV kit as well which is an absolute blast. I started to get brave but it seems the video is just a little too laggy to be able to respond to maneuvering at full speed. Thankfully the drone has survived about 2 dozen crashes, at least two from heights of over 5 meters, one on to pavement, and it still runs. A lot of stuff is broken and re-glued, but it still flies great. Great quad to learn the ropes. I'm going to fly this thing until it falls apart.

This was a Christmas Gift to my father, and will be the first of many drone purchases. One of the Drone’s four propellers did not work, and I should have been alerted. It's a simple issue. Faulty Product, Return, Done. Because it was a gift, my father didn’t want to bother me and talked directly with Parrot. The Parrot Customer Service may assume that it was crashed and broken, but this is not the case. The customer service gave him the run around for 5 weeks needing proof of this, a photo of that, a video of this, more proof of that. After 6 weeks he told me, and I contacted Amazon. The issue was resolved immediately. Again, it’s a simple issue. Product returned. BRAVO AMAZON. That will keep me coming back to Amazon. But not to Parrot. The replacement drone will not be a Parrot Drone, but it will be purchased through Amazon.

Muy pequeño y ligero, pero con una construcción de calidad. Está resistiendo muy bien los golpes, además de que parece fácil encontrar repuesto de hélices, motores, chasis, etc. Las estabilización automática de altura y centrado funciona muy bien, y es muy fácil controlarlo. Además, con la aplicación para volarlo desde el móvil puedes desactivar parcial o totalmente la estabilización, además de ajustar la inclinación, velocidad, controles y otras cosas. Lo que no he descubierto es cómo hacer que esos cambios hechos en la aplicación sirvan para cuando se usa el mando. Tengo que investigar más. No recomiendo usar la aplicación móvil para controlarlo, porque aunque reacciona sin retardo, tocar en pantalla no aporta sensibilidad y es fácil perder el control. Mejor el mando. Muy recomendable para niños o como primer dron por su facilidad de vuelo, y si descubro como desactivar la estabilización al usarlo con el mando será también muy divertido para usuarios algo avanzados. He probado otros drones chinos de 50€ y se nota el salto de calidad y la facilidad de vuelo, pero también son divertidos de volar.

Il drone è fenomenale, adatto sia da usare all'interno di abitazioni, che in ambienti esterni. Se poi quando si è all'aperto si utilizza la modalità sport il divertimento è assicurato. Questo drone permette di svagarsi quei 5 minuti tra un lavoro e un altro o tra una sessione di studio e l'altra. Si ricarica in pochissimo tempo e garantisce quell'autonomia di 5 minuti che permette di rilassarsi. Si può definire quasi indistruttibile, nonostante le svariate botte che abbia preso o rami in cui si è incagliato, cadendo rovinosamente a terra, non mi ha dato ancora nessun problema e continua a volare senza problemi. Ne consiglio l'acquisto per i piccoli momenti di svago.

Bought as a birthday gift for my son. I have tried the drone before putting it away for his 11th birthday. I can say as the first drone we have purchased it is quite impressive. This is a well made bit of kit. Not so much a kids drone, but I wanted to get him something a bit more technical. The app you use to control is also very good.

C'est une honte. Ce produit se casse en un instant. J'ai demandé un remboursement ce qui est normal. Ils m'ont répondu qu'aucun retour ne peut se faire lorsque le produit est endommagé a cause d'utilisation. Même si c'est une une utilisation normale ! Un vrai scandale.
