Tarot of the Vampires

I'm a professional Tarot reader who's been waiting 2 decades for a diverse vampire deck that isn't cringy, and Tarot of the Vampires is finally it! Every single vampire deck I've seen before this one featured only white people even though vampiric creatures exist in nearly every culture. It took until 2023 for a vampire deck to be published with people of all skin tones, and I'm glad times are finally changing to show all of us!The cards are standard size mass market cardstock. The 240-page guidebook is well-written with a strong vampire theme, plus larger full-color illustrations of all the cards!Some may wonder what good they can get out of what's basically a deck about monsters. The guidebook explains how heroic and villainous vampires act as a "dark mirror" of humanity. We drain the Earth's resources, battle our basic instincts, eat creatures we deem below us, and claw to extend our lives as long as possible. We can safely explore these darker themes with this deck through Shadow Work (reconciling our less acceptable motives, behavior, desires, etc) without judgment, and hopefully heal ourselves and be more informed and empowered to make better choices.If you have the Shadowrun: Sixth World Tarot by Echo and Lazarus Chernik, this deck has similar vibes and can be used for creating RPG stories and characters!The only thing I'd change is to show a wider range of body types because the Queen of Pentacles is the only person who isn't a skinny woman or muscular man. Since the guidebook mentions queerness as being part of the exploration of both human and vampire themes, I would've liked to have seen more gender non-conforming and trans people, but overall I'm happy with the deck!

As a nature-based person and a regular user of the Rider Waite deck, I am always a bit reluctant to delve into the mythology of vampires and such beings. However this version was a delightful surprise. I found that exploring the archetypes of this deck deepened my experience of myself and the more subtle undercurrents of the human experience. I recommend this journey to all who seek to understand the breadth of the universe.

I love this deck, dark themed but in bright saturated candy colors.

First of all the art is stunning, this by far is my favorite art deck. The Codex is great as well, following the journey through the cards. The meanings are very well thought out. They symbolism within the art helps with the interpretation without having to always look to the book, which helps since I have not completely fluent in tarot.

The artwork & cards in general are amazing. I haven’t found a deck in a long time that I’ve really resonated with like this one.

But Charles Harrington’s name attached to it piqued my interest; as his tarot work has consistently been insightful to me as a tarot lover. When I finally engaged with the deck, my hesitation evaporated. Craig Maher’s artistry in the illustrations adds a textural richness that breathes new life into the vampire narrative. Each card becomes a microcosm of society, encompassing different roles and emotional states, thereby broadening the deck's applicability and resonance in readings. The inclusion of such varied characters adds not just visual interest but a depth of interpretation, facilitating richer dialogues about social roles, emotional complexities, and human diversity during a reading.The cards are great for exploring power dynamics, romantic tensions, ethical dilemmas, and adrenaline-pumping adventures, all refracted through the complex personas of these vampires. Chegou bem rápido, veio muito bem embalado. Veio o box em capa dura com o livro e as cartas. O livro é ilustrado e colorido, vem imagens de todas as cartas no livro, a arte das cartas são muito bonitas, estão incríveis, Craig Maher está de parabéns, a descrição das cartas também estão bem explicativas e fáceis de entender, parabéns também a Charles Harrington. Eu amei tudo, já se tornou um dos meus Tarots favoritos.

Nice sturdy box. If you are interested in vampires look no further, this deck is like you stepped into your favourite film. Great image’s and really good guidebook. Highly recommend.
