Fantastic learning tool! AAAA+++
This is a very good toy. It is fun and you learn with it. I bought it for my two year old son and he adores it.You connect it to a computer and write the name of your child say Romeo. so each time you turn it on it says "Hello Romeo" you don't choose from pre-set names, you write whatever your child is known as say Sammy, Johnie, Kiki, Nikki, or any short cut name. It allows you to make that choice, so it makes the toy so personal for your child. It calls his name now and then.The email too is a brilliant idea. as we listen to the emails I composed to my son. he just beams with excitement! It is a good toy both for fun and learning.You learn have 26 alphabets with different 26 sounds of any musical instrument, 26 different sounds of different animals, 26 names of animals that begin with each letter of the alphabet and some music. How brilliant!and it celebrates the letter that begins with your child's name.The battery life is also good. It takes only 2 small batteries and really lasts.my little boy adores it and i think is a very good bargain and worth every penny. No regrets.

Leapfrog Childs Laptop
very nice size for childrent to handle/open & use. Can be personalised via USB link to Leapfrog website. This allows for your own child's name to be inserted to Laptop, it tells the child it has "e mails" & reads the "message" and who its "from" (again pre-set options - Mummy/Daddy et et, decent amount of options-(from a list of pre-set options, when you log-in to personalise the Laptop).Nice learning aid/toy that give's because it can be personalised slightly, give's it an edge, useful especially for younger children.Great price at under fifteen pounds when purchased on Amazon.Battery life very good.

Good, but could do better
Well-constructed and designed mini "laptop" for your toddler. The settings can be personalised by logging onto the Leapfrog website and setting up an account, then each time the laptop is started or an interactive program is used, it will address your child by name.There are plenty of functions on the device to keep them amused and it serves as both a play and educational tool.This is the second one I have bought over the last three years, and my only gripe is that the graphics desperately need upgrading, even if this means a slight rise in price. At present, the blocky, 80s-style images are not appealing even to kids of this age when most have some access to smartphones and tablets with their bold colours and realistic visuals.So it really doesn't compute that the Leapfrog persist with this prehistoric technology - particularly when, that aside, they have produced such a worthy item.

Another Leapfrog winner
I bought the Leaptop for my grandson Ethan and was very pleased with the quality. I have previously purchased other leapfrog toys and always rate them very highly. When l'm looking after Ethan he loves to send an 'E' to mammy and always has a smile on his face whislt doing it. He is 2 1/2 years old and bangs on the keys like crazy so very pleased its durable. Although I must admit it looked very strange watching him the first time he used it. His little fingers were tapping on the keybaord like a well trained typist. For the price it amazing. Only thing I would change is music choice it would have been nicer to have popular nursery rhymes with lyrics for him to sing along to. Would highly recommend it.

One of the best toys
Sturdy, ours took a lot of falls from the bed, chair, sofa and had no problem. The voices are very clear and easy to follow and repeat for a small child. It can be connected to the computer and personalized which we have discovered after we received it - and it was a nice surprise. Boght it almost a year ago when our daughter was 1yr3moGood value for money.Overall we are happy with the product and will recommend.

Bought this for my two year old grandson.
This was a big hit with our William! all the big people in his life have computers, and he gets to play with my i pad when he visits. Now he has his own computer! Within minutes of extracting it from the very complicated packaging, he had worked out how to turn it on and off, control the volume (he likes loud). He just follows the instructions that the computer gives him, and works away! A very child friendly toy, and he loves it, spends ages listening to the songs and following the instructions to find out new things about animals and everything else. a worthwhile buy! And he loves telling everybody " I have a computer"!

very good product
weird choice of animals but they do exist so why not? after all my 2 year old daughter also has a book about a platypus. this toy is so good we got the french version (my daughter is bilingual)... the french version is just as good. again, weird choice of animals, but i guess sometimes it isn't easy.just one problem: when like us you get the english and french version, the computer doesn't accept the two different softwares because it sees it as the same.but how many people are going to buy the english toy AND the french toy?

It's average but good at learning alphabet
Ok so the reviews about this being more a simpler, less functional and varied product in terms of content to the older version are correct. However I find it is really helpful for learning the alphabet and pretending to be on a laptop like mummy and daddy (we work from home on laptops frequently). I find the songs are also ones my daughter likes and one song counts to 20 which I'm overjoyed with as most toys stop at 10. It's has simple easy to understand options unlike other products on the market like the vtech laptop. My 2.5 year old is going to find this very educational this Christmas. The only thing I would improve is having a backlit screen, maybe in multiple colours and improve the contrast -it's a little hard to see. Other than that it's a simple toy. I'd also like more learning content like days of the week and learn the time - but the alphabet is what I wanted and it does this just fine.
