I'm a real fusspot when it comes to kettles so I did a lot of research before buying this one. This kettle provides all the things important to me, they are -1. It's lightweight with a good handle with an easy grip (I suffer at times from arthritis in my hands)3. Good pourer - no drips, no water coming out of the lid when you over tilt it, it's safe4. Easy to read water level - the water level indicator is not hidden behind the handle, it runs down both sides of the handle and is suitable for right or left handed people5. It lights up when heating with a discreet blue colour6. It's quiet7. It's quick to boil - and is not too hot to touch when it has boiled - again, it's safe8. It's a good solid base - again, it feels safe.9. It has a button press flip open lid which opens completely ie not half way hinged in the middle. It opens all the way up and is easy to fill from the tap - again, it's safe.10. Finally - price. I think it's a real bargain price. I paid £24.99 for mine and it's worth every penny and more.I've read lots of comments about an odd taste when using for the first time. I filled it and boiled it 4 times before I used it and I have experienced no odd taste at all - even if there was one, I would imagine it would disappear quite quickly after using it a few time. Any kettle I've bought, I always boil it a few times before using anyway.And ..... my husband like it very much, thinks it's a great design and terrific value for money.I hope you find this review helpful.

I don't even know when I bought this kettle - probably years ago, and definitely before the global pandemic - but I bought it for my parents when they needed some new kitchen appliances, and it's outlasted a microwave, a pressure cooker, an air fryer, and my dad.It's dutifully boiled the equivalent of the Atlantic Ocean without complaint, being used every day, at all times, to make cups of tea and coffee, pans on the hob, to clean drains, nervously defrost windows in a hurry, remove stains from tupperware, and alleviate allergies during hot summer nights.It's handled being cleaned and de-scaled a few times, and the plastic is holding up well without any signs of degrading/flaking. The LED still works, despite all the condensation over the years, and the little bit-catcher also still slides in and out as needed.It boils quickly and relatively quietly, has an auto-off, and doesn't dribble everywhere. It also slots onto the base easily, meaning you can spin the kettle round while you're waiting for it to boil, as every sensible person does. This does make it easy to use, and is useful for people with mobility issues or reduced strength in their arms; it can be lifted slightly, slid across a surface with little resistance due to the lack of protrusions, and filled under a tap.Need a kettle? Unless you're prone to being drawn in by prestige pricing, I can't see why you'd spend any more than this. Is your electro-thermically heated water superior to mine? Not at this value.

The Russell Hobbs Mode Kettle is a good choice for the price. It has a sleek design, boils water quickly, and is easy to operate. The vibrant red color adds a nice pop to the kitchen. However, the exterior tends to show water stains quite easily, which means it needs frequent wiping to keep it looking clean. Despite this minor flaw, it’s a reliable and affordable kettle that does the job well. Perfect if you’re looking for something functional and stylish without spending too much.

This is our third one of these. I suppose that does mean they only last about 2yrs but then we probably use it 5 times a day, at least. Having tried glass, stainless steel and other plastic kettles, this design seems perfect to me. The kettle lights up with a pleasing blue LED light so you know it is on. It is quick and not too noisy. It is a plastic finish and this means the outside of the kettle does not seem to get too hot. The level viewing window is clear enough and it is easy to see the water level. The kettle is easy to fill, either by flipping the lid or via the spout. It pours well. The only downside is that the fine plastic mesh filter on the spout does break after a while but you can get replacements and I think the same problem applies to all kettles unless of course they do not have a filter at all.Stainless steel kettles get too hot I think. Glass kettles look good but they also get hot and are heavy and if you live in a hard water area then the water just looks horrible anyway. Stainless and glass kettles are also more expensive so you pay more for a less good outcome in my opinion.Some kettles I have bought had a strange taste to the water. This kettle does not.Also, this one really looks quite smart although beauty is of course in the eye of the beholder.

Perfect! Glad I read reviews and paid a little more for this kettle. Owned about 2 months. It's quiet (in comparison to my older one anyway), pours neatly with no drips and no leaks from anywhere. The light is pretty and is only on when in use rather than wasting bulbs and energy being on constantly. Very sturdy, lid is smooth to open and close. Fits neatly on base, no wobbles. One of the best I've ever bought actually! Highly recommend 👍🏻
