This Is The Cure To The Worst Case Of "Bell Wire Blues"...
My Maxim for any audio equipment that has "cables supplied" is: "Bin them and buy quality".And so it was, when I recently purchased a set of Edifier R1280Ts speakers, I knew EXACTLY what kind of bell-wire atrocity would be lurking in the box, and I was not surprised at all. Luckily, I had had the foresight to simultaneously order (and this is a bit of a mouthful "electro smart 5m Quality 2x2.5mm Loud Speaker Cable".When I compared it physically with the nasty wire that was supplied, it was between two and three times the thickness! Also, what with the amount of strands inside the thick plastic (an audiophile's dream), it was fun twisting the wires to actually get the ends to fit into each of the speaker clip terminals! But oh the quality! Paired with the Edifier speakers, it's towering sonic sculptures built within the frame of the audio envelope! Forgive me for waxing lyrical, but a set of *good* speakers is a set of *bad* ones without really decent cabling. And this *is* some luxury sweet cable, without breaking the bank. As you can see from the photo, it's clear the shop has huge rolls and cut lengths as ordered, which is perfect. Why waste time on fancy packaging when the cable does the talking? In sum, I dearly love my new setup - the Majority Fitzwilliam, the Edifier speakers, and... PROPER CABLING! Happy listening, Budget Price Audiophiles!

Astonishingly good value
Over the past few months, due to the Covid-19 situation, I have been working from home. Although I have a good quality hi-fi set up in my living room, I didn't have anything in the room where I am working so decided to bring my quarter of a century old JVC UX-A5 out of retirement. I was always pleased with its sound when I was younger, and it still delivers a good quality sound today, but with the standard cable, there was a little bit missing. A quick search on Amazon revealed this cable with decent reviews at a good price. I ordered two 5 metre cables. The only downside is that the cables were not delivered on the same day, but that's not really too much of a problem. Having wired up my speakers with this, I am very pleased - albeit not entirely surprised - at the difference in sound quality, it really opens up the presence of most music, even if just streaming from Spotify. I can't comment on its performance with vinyl as I don't have a record deck attached to the mini system and I'm not moving the one from the living room just to test it! While the mini system will never rival my "real" setup, this is very good quality cable at an extremely reasonable price. (It worked out at about a pound a metre when I bought it). I would be very happy to recommend this to anyone looking for a cheap and quick upgrade to their system.

Mediocre stuff, not dog-proof
Average sound quality from basic speaker cable. But then it's well known that we here in the UK are too cloth-eared to tell the difference. I'm one of them! But I can hear that this doesn't give quite the punch of a cable costing 10 times as much. Not worth forking out that much, I have dogs who regularly chew cables, they've yet to make dog-resistant wire! This cable will do till it gets chewed through (again).

REVIEW: Electrosmart 5m, 2 x 2.5mm Loud Speaker Cable | Multi-Strand 444 (2x 222 Strand)
Guys, not a bad, bottom-end speaker cable, which may suit many undemanding taste's out there. But, if you're looking for more information retrieval / tighter base / expanded frequency range one would like to hear, then far more worthwhile to go for, e.g., QED 79-Strand cabling (not that much more in price compared to the Electrostat).Latter advice, to me, is a no-brainer. Music is something you live with for years. Do the best you can, unless, as mentioned, you're very undemanding.
