What a super hub. Not an obtrusive add-on but fits and looks good on my slate grey MacBook Pro 13” with touchbar. It works perfectly BUT BEWARE!! If you have fitted a protective hard case to your new MacBook Pro, the Letscom Hub will NOT WORK AT ALL. The extra thickness of the hard shell means that the two connectors on the Letscom Hub don’t enter their sockets enough to work. I discovered this too late and managed to ‘tailor’ the hard shell protector to go the Hub. This is not an easy task and risks cracking the shell in the removal of thin plastic framework to accommodate the Hub so that it works at all. I emphasise that it is not Letscom’s fault, and say again, Beware if you fit a hard shell because their manufacturers have “Not Allowed for Multi Hub Adaptors” in their design.

Do not buy this product.
I bought this and foolishly gave the manufacturers the benefit of the doubt from the other reviewers. The other reviewers are all right. This does not work. It won't read USB, the light comes on to say it's connected, but when you add the power cable into it - nothing. That I could live with as can charge via another port but the whole point of buying this was to import video footage and run off USB hard drives.I rarely bother taking the time to write reviews, but I'm sick of people selling rubbish tat on Amazon like this so my recommendation is do not buy this item. Complete waste of money (and your time when like me you'll be returning it).Just updating this review actually. Took it out of the Mac just after writing this and the whole body separated from the plug point - just fell apart. Unbelievable!

Pretty costly.. but arguably necessary
I got this on behalf of my Dad who recently got a Mac-Book for work.Personally, I'm a windows type of guy - but the latest mac-books seem to be really restricted in terms of connectivity - and this looks to restore that connectivity. My drop in a star is because of how much it actually is for what you receive, but once you're in the Apple eco-system - you should be used to paying a lot for dongles and adapters anyway...This allows charging, an extra type C connection, and USB 3's with a MicroSD card too. The only thing it does seem to be missing is an HDMI output, but you could get a Type C to Hdmi anyway. It looks well-built and fits the style with the mabook pretty well, it's easy to plug in/take out and can easily be slipped into a laptop carry bag.In conclusion, if you're willing to pay the price - you'll be getting something that restores prior connectivity for your new MacBook, and a 12-month warranty included should mean you're set for a while.

Really well made adaptor that just works with no messing about
If you have one of the new MacBook's, which come with just the two USB C ports, you've probably had a bit of a headache trying to work out what the heck you do with all your legacy peripherals - suddenly all the stuff I use regularly was redundant. I've several external hard drives I rely on for photo backups etc, as well as SD card readers, USB flash drives and numerous other bits and pieces that I use on a day to day basis. This is a very compact small and neat solution - plus this in and you've kept the two x USB C slots but gained 2 x USB 3,0 slots and a microsd and SD slot. It's a quality bit of kit, really well made is a sleek grey brushed aluminium alloy finish that fits my mac perfectly. It comes with a little drawstring bag in the box, and weighs next to nothing so is very portable (in fact my only fear is losing it as it's so small!). There's no setup as such, you literally just plug it in and you are good to go, so there's no messing about having to download any drivers or anything silly. This is the second of these type of devices I've had to buy so far, which is a bit of a pain but that's Apple for you! Apples' own official products similar to this are more expensive and seem to offer less in comparison, and as this works flawlessly I can't really see any benefit in paying over the odds for an official product. The good stuff:High quality, well made productSmall and neat with own bagJust works - no configuring drivers etcThe bad stuff:Nothing I can of, except possible a 4k HDMI out would be greatIn conclusion then a really well made solution to the lack of slots on modern macs.

Not brilliant
I bought this a couple of years ago when I first got my MacBook Pro, but only recently started using all of its features at once. I have found that when only asked todo one thing, it works well. That being said, one of the USB C ports is dead (I have tested numerous devices through it) and, as has been said by others, it struggles to operate an external hard drive, as the drive can be disconnected by a slight knock.

Does not really work for me as a video editor.
Shame I held out quite high hope for this. But it often drops its connection with the drive. It just does not sit well. If you hit the drive, the computer or cable just a little it turns off the drive. It is a nice shape, works well apart from the fact it does not stay seated in the ports with even the slightest vibration.
