Great wee machine for a very reasonable price
This is a really good wee tens machine. Powerful and really compact for carrying about. I’ve been using it for 2 weeks now on advise from physio and it definitely is helping my neck and lower back pain

Pretty good, but the dual chanells are not really independant.
If you only use one chanel this works well enough, although all the different modes are a bit useless and I only ever use it on the "Constant" setting, which is quite effective. If you use both chanels with two sets of pads the sensation from one set goes down as you turn up the other one and vice versa. My old unit had two truely independant chanels which allowed for choice on both. The pads are okay, decent stickiness. The flip over lid just gets in the way and I took off the metal clip.

TENS out of ten!
It is hard to review the device without being excited about TENS. Using this has made a massive difference to my life. Why my doctor has never suggested this I will never know. The device is quite, er, functional looking but feels well made. It gives the impression of going to last. It is well packaged and the has everything you need to get started including the battery which is nice. It comes with four pads which should last for a while but once you have tried it, it is worth ordering some spares.Update 2019: Now had this for three years and it has worked just fine. Previously got it to help with knee arthritis but have recently been using it to cope with hip arthritis. Doesn't stop the pain completely but does make things a lot more bearable. There are two instruction booklets. The first explains a lot about the settings and so on but are very technical and the second gives indications on positioning the pads and what settings to use. The device's default settings are well above what is recommended in the manual. There are plenty of sources of information and practical advice on-line that is worth having a look at too.I've chronic pain in a knee due to osteoarthritis which tablets help but don't completely take the pain away. The joint is rather stiff because moving it causes pain but exercise would probably help strengthen it. I'd originally looked at TENS as a help for my wife's neck pain but thought I would try it on my knee first as she wasn't sure about it at all.The first time I used the device I positioned the four pads in a square above and below my knee and wired them up diagonally. I then had it turned up so I could just feel it but very faintly. I used it like this for about thirty minutes. After that I took the pads off. So did it help? Yes. Whilst my knee was still stiff there was little pain when walking which was truly amazing. I have had the pain for so long its absence was really noticeable. Based on one use I am very impressed. Obviously the effect it has on others may be different.Overall I have been very impressed with the results in using TENS. The device is great and the only gripe is the level dials are a little hard to see what setting you have it at.

Yes it definately does help.
For those who are looking for reviews to see if this really works, I can whole heartedly tell you the answer is YES! I'm using mine as I write this review. This is not a permanent cure for pain, but if you suffer badly, it does give some very welcome relief.I have, at the age of 47, osteo-arthritis, most noticeably in my knees. I have had an upper tibial osteotomy, where the metal plate snapped, and took some bone with it, so had the operation a second time, with the addition of bone graft taken from my hip. So, with one knee repaired, but still painful, and the other, unrepaired, and having taken a beating whilst I was on crutches for the best part of a year, I have a pretty good idea of how much difference this can make. You get plenty of easy to understand information regarding settings, placement of electrode pads, alternative placement, as well as some reusable pads to get you started. The pads supplied can be used many times, and replacements are pretty reasonable to buy on amazon, especially if you buy the 24 pack. How TENS works, is by disrupting the signal your body sends, from the pain area to your brain. The pain is an electrical signal that travels through your nerves and muscle. What the TENS gizmo does, is to send a fluctuating pulse across the path of the pain signal, so that little or no pain gets through. If you imagine a long thin warehouse, with a man shouting to a second at the other end. If you were to add two more men at the halfway point, and at the sides, one beating on metal, and the other using a circular saw on wood, then the sound from the shouting man would be lost, and not reach the other end. (Best way I could think of to explain it)What you actually feel is a tingling sensation, which increases as you turn the dial up. It is only painful if you turn it up way too far, so turn the dial slowly until you find your comfortable point. If you wonder how easy it is to use, well my technophobe 78 year old mum can use it, and she gets confused by the Sky box. ( Sorry Mum)Places like Lloyds or Boots chemists sell various makes and models of TENS units, from cheapish, to bloody expensive, but in my opinion, unless you need to treat more than two areas of pain at once, this is as good as any, and more reasonably priced than some.I really recommend this, as it give you at least a bit of respite from pain.Good luck to all who are looking at this, and have a need for it.
