A remake of the 1947 'feel good' classic, telling the heart-warming story of a young girl's desire for a fully-functional family, complete with a father and a baby brother. The girl, Susan, confides in Kris Kringle (Sir Richard Attenborough), the kindly old man who is acting as the grotto Santa in the department store managed by her mother. Kris Kringle, however, believes he is the genuine Santa Claus and this devotion to the cause makes him very popular indeed, leading to record profits for the store. This annoys rival retailers so much that they try to discredit the so-called Santa, leading eventually to a court case in which Kringle and his lawyer try to prove that he is the real thing. I recommend this one over the old 1947 original release as this is on DVD, in colour and younger children would probably hate the original 1947 (black and white) one if it's even still available to buy but children will love this and adults to!! Good memories of this film. All i'm going to say is buy it, there's no point in me telling you about the film incase you've not seen this film before. So to not disappoint all i'm going to says is, it's a lovely Christmas film for the family to watch and definitely makes your heart warm up and put you in the Christmas mood. It's cheap to buy and beats any modern Christmas film for sure.

Magical and heartwarming
About the magic of believing and the idea that dreams can come true... especially at Christmas. Susan has been brought up with her mother not to believe in Father Christmas, her Mum doesn't think her daughter should be lied to as she will be disappointed when she finds out the 'truth'. Susan seems confused and torn between her own childlike desire to believe and her mother's cynicism until a Father Christmas employed by the store claims to be the real thing. BUY BOTH THIS AND THE ORIGINAL
As remake go this is handled with great care and love and does not move far away from the original not sure it need the Picture of Santa with his pants down though after all this is a film for everyone and a shame that they felt it necessary to include this, and also preferred the story in the original that Santa was giving to the Hospital for Machinery rather than the story of big bonus for the staff, guess the world has moved on since the original but a very very good film and I would recommend that you buy both you would not be dissapointed

Da quando è stato trasmesso in tv per la prima volta, non c'è stato Natale in cui mi sia persa la visione di questo film...anche se è il remake di un grande classico, a suo modo ha assunto le tinte di un piccolo classico natalizio moderno. Sir Richard Attenborough è praticamente perfetto nei panni del protagonista! Niente da dire sulla spedizione: velocissima e puntuale come garantito. Ringrazio il Venditore per aver fornito i suoi recapiti in caso di problemi, un'attenzione molto gradita.

This is a very old and special movie that has been around for quite some time. It is a great Christmas time movie that everybody should have. As far as I’m concerned it’s better than it’s a wonderful life.
