It's a shame we need this but I'm glad it's available
I recommend this item for anyone who travels with luggage. The item itself is easy to work with. Not heavy, but sturdy. Setting up your numbers is straight forward. There are a few buttons to get the hang of, but it's easy. Besides the good quality of the product, why do I recommend this? I travel by train regularly, normally with a huge suitcase. Unfortunately you can't always keep your suitcase in eye shot when travelling by train, and even if you can, some person will still try to steal it, as happened with me. I was sat very close to my suitcase, and this person knew it was my suitcase... and yet still tried to walk off with it. The train stops, I'm reading a book, and as I look up to see the view, a thief is literally just about to step off the train with my suitcase. I jump up and corner him so he can't get off, whilst telling him loudly exactly what I thought of him as he looked very sheepish and embarrassed in front of the whole train, unable to get away. But it still upsets me now some very sentimental stuff was almost gone forever. Whilst not foolproof, it's a deterrent. I lock my suitcase to the luggage rack. I was and still am concerned with what staff may say but so far no problems. I've also heard some funny comments about it, but I couldn't care less. Not knowing who the suitcase belongs to, I've heard 'who on earth would lock their suitcase like that tut tut tut'. They soon shut up when I speak up and say 'you would do it too if you saw someone attempt to audaciously steal your stuff in front of you'. This is not for high risk stuff, and it won't turn your item into an impenetrable fortress, it's not designed for that. As I say, someone may try to steal your stuff regardless of this and if they are determined this won't stop them. But, for certain situations it may work as a deterrent or a surprise. It may turn off the opportunist.

Good stroller lock BUT...
All in all it worked and did a good job of keeping our stroller safe outside the rides while we were in Disneyland Paris BUT when we returned from one of the rides on our last day, our code suddenly would not work and the lock was stuck on our stroller wheel. As a last attempt before asking for help, we tried the standard code that the lock is set to when you receive it and that worked. Somehow it had reset itself. It did the job though, so I was pleased.

Very good light-weight occasional lock.
Good bit of kit! Clearly won't deter a determined thief with wire cutters, but it is very light weight and slips easily into the pockets of a cycling jersey for use as an adequate deterrent at coffee or lunch stops. Wire is long enough to go around 3 frames, and the combination, coiling and release mechanisms all work smoothly enough to give it 5 stars for quality and value at the price.

Ticks the light & compact boxes
I'm not dissatisfied with this weedy lock. I bought it to have something extremely light and compact which fits in a small bag and gives me extra peace of mind if I stop at a café or shop for 5-15 minutes. So far it has filled that brief adequately. The mechanisms of the lock - dials, retracting cable button, unlock button - work well and give a positive user experience. It does feel like a single quick yank on the few-millimetre-thick wire would free your bike to an opportunistic criminal, though. A lock for those who dare to live dangerously.

Very good value for the price
Very good value for the price. Lightweight and seems to be sufficiently strong and secure for what I use it for: anchoring a bag to a cafe table to avoid casual theft when I get up to go back to the counter for a refill etc, or securing my bike when I leave it very briefly to go into a shop (provided it's not in a high-risk area: this Bosvision lock isn't intended to be high security.) It's easy to set and change the combination, and I've had no problems so far with any part of the mechanism. (The spring for retracting the cable is quite strong, so be careful to avoid injury with this.) I can't yet comment on long-term use, but if any problems arise I'll add to this post.

Code can be cracked very easily
As anybody who's owned (and lost) a bicycle will know, combination locks aren't secure. The codes can be cracked within minutes, or even seconds with some. I won't explain the technique here because Amazon will ban this review but it's very common knowledge. I thought this product, with four digits and a modern design, might have overcome this. Nope. Not at all. I was able to open it within minutes without looking at it using the techniques mentioned above – and I suspect a thief will be able to do it in maybe 10-20 seconds. I bought this device to secure my suitcase when travelling by train but simply can't trust it. I struggle to see how this could be useful anywhere, to be honest. It's security theatre. It looks secure, but it really isn't. I know all security products of this kind are no block for a determined thief, but wow, I expected better than this.

Really pleased with this
Really pleased with this, it feels sturdy and well made, the cable is a good width and better than a lot a looked at. It would not stop a determined thief with the right gear but very little would in reality however opportunist thieves would leave this and move onto easier prey. It was very easy to change the combination one thing it doesn't mention in the instructions is if you want to tighten the cable before locking it in push the cable head into the locking port about halfway so it catches then press the recoil button and the cable tightens, once you have it as tight as you want push the cable head all the way into the locking point and muss up the combination. There are cheaper locks on the market but you do get what you pay for, the way I look at it is if I've paid £600+ for a bike why would I use a cheap lock to secure it? I'm very happy to recommend this.

Stops the opportunist thief
I carry this on my bike to lock it up when I stop somewhere for coffee which I already deem to be quite a safe spot. It will stop the passing opportunist without any tools from riding off with your bike but a basic small pair of pliers can cut the wire with ease. I know, because I forgot the combination on one of these locks so cut the wire in less than 5 seconds with the pliers I carry in my cycling kit. So, its not strong but its lightweight and long enough to lock two bikes together and I bought another one to replace the one I cut off. Just be realistic about its limitations.
