Works well with Smartthings hub.
I use this with a Smartthings hub, and it works flawlessly. I am using it for a Zwave home security system and have been so happy with it I just ordered my second one for another door. The price from Amazon is great too. I really like that it is virtually hidden from view when the door is closed so it's nearly impossible to tamper with. The installation wasn't too hard, but it is a particularly deep hole you need to drill into the door frame. Make sure you have a powerful drill and the correct size drill bit for the job - I used a 19mm flat wood bit in my mains powered drill.Update 18/04/2016:Unfortunately, the 2nd unit I received appeared to be defective - the operating range was very poor compared to the first one I installed. Thankfully the procedure with Amazon to obtain a replacement was flawless. A day later the replacement has arrived and it is working just as well as the first. 2/3 - still not bad, and I still highly recommend these for a Z-Wave system.

Love these guys
Love these guys. Have a couple of them drilled into the tops of doors for intrusion detection and to trigger automations on entry into certain rooms.Picked up no hassle by the smartthings hub.Only issue is one is reporting zero battery for six months now despite still working!Update Dec 17.I now have three of these guys and they are great. I've taken to installing them on the hinge side of the door top as I can now leave the door open ajar and not trigger automations like lights or alerts.I still have the issue of zero battery being reported on one of them though. But I'll be getting more! Using with a Smartthings hub.

This little beauty has been working flawlessly for a good while now
This little beauty has been working flawlessly for a good while now. Paired with Athom’s Homey and hasn’t failed once!My only complaint is that it feels cheap, I worry about the durability. It might say somewhere but I though it was a metal casing, it’s not, it’s thin plastic. We’ll see how it goes.

ideal if you want an invisable sensor. Needs a big hole drilled.
Great if you want to hide them completely. You do need to drill a big hole so this will weaken your door.I used one on an outdoor gate without issue as well, so opens up uses but at your own risk as not designed to be waterproof. The range is good considering its fully buried in a door frame. For about the same money you can now get sensitive strips which are hidden from view but surface mounted between the door and the frame so maybe a better option for many users.

when setting these up the sensor has to be very close the the hub
Neatest solution so far for open/dhut door sensor, take care when setting these up the sensor has to be very close the the hub (with in a few foot) to establish a secure connection, you can then move it further away once pairing complete. I have mine on an outside gate and its working very well so far, not sure how long it will last outdoors but like the other reviewer it's standing up well to the British elements so far even through winter months

Great product
I installed this a couple of years ago, the magnet part is recessed into the door frame and painted over so no one really knows it's there. I have mine working with Samsung SmartThings.

Don't expect a long life
Worked perfectly for 6 months and then suddenly stopped working. Completely dead and useless now. I have 2 more still installed so I hope they don't break too. Would be a brilliant product if it worked

Waste of money
Easy to fit and has great potential. However, first one would not pair with any controller. Amazon replaced it but that one gets through a battery in about two weeks and will not always update the controller of status changes. So I have given up with it now.
