Great product and very good value!
Highly recommend this timer! It's really well thought out and a very good design. It has clear display and super easy to set up and change at any time. It hardly needs instructions as its that simple to set up. It also looks and feels a decent quality product. Time will tell how long it will last, but I have no reason to believe it won't last as long or longer than some of the more expensive Hozelock and Gardena timers. I have had experience in some of the really cheap timers, such as the kingfisher one sold on Amazon, and trust me this is worth every penny over them! A Features I really like on this timer is:- it has a manual button that switches it on for count down of ten minutes (you may be able to alter how long the manual count down come on fo too, but not looked into this) this feature is really usefull if you set up you irrigation System and just want to switch it on while you test it to check for leaks etc, with out altering the time you set it for, or if you just wanted to use the tap to get water for something else. Also if there has been a lot of rain that day with touch of one button you can delay any watering for 24hrs and it just start it's schedule after that.To set up you just set the current time, then time you want it to come on. After that you set how long it come on for (1 minute up to 4hrs), and then how often(every 6 hrs,12 hrs, 24hrs, 2day,3 days,4days or once a week)I would also recommend the two way timer of the same brand. it's just as brilliant and easy to set up. if you need two different watering Systems it's cheaper than buying two timers!

Water water everywhere - time to replace a Hozelock watering timer!
We previously had two Hozelock AC1+ timers but one started leaking so badly we thought we'd try one of these Orbit Buddy timers instead. So far, it seems to have been a good move as the Orbit was not only significantly cheaper, but seems not only to be better quality but is also much nicer to use. Set-up is very straightforward and the liquid crystal display is very large and easy to read. Set-up options are self-evident - simply set the time then move the large dial to the required function and use the + & - buttons to tell it how often and how long.Connecting the unit to the tap and outlet pipe was also easy as the Orbit uses the same connectors as Hozelock so it was a straight substitution - no tools needed, just screw the two large plastic nuts at the top and bottom onto the inlet and outlets, set to 'Auto' and leave it to do what you've set it to. It's also nice that the unit is an unobtrusive grey rather than the bright yellow Hozelock seem to like.**** Update 3 years on - we bought two and both are still working perfectly - and on the same batteries *************

This is what I call excellent customer service
We bought this item for watering the plants while away, it worked really well for about a month, then we went away for the winter, and did not need to use it whilst away. On our return the battery was dead on the item, and so we exchanged the batteries, only two weeks later the batteries went again, so replaced again, but after only two weeks again the batteries had gone again. I contacted the seller and after a couple of emails, they have sent me a new one through the post very very quickly, without any quibbles. This is what I call excellent customer service, thank you. I would recommend this item, since it was easy to use, and when it did, it worked really well.

Great product. Noisy, but easily fixed...
Bought this to look after my newly-planted roof terrace while I was on holiday, and it did the job admirably, so it's connected and used permanently now to take care of the watering.Super easy to set, with a large clear display and no-nonsense dial. One feature missing would be a battery-level indicator, so best to fit fresh batteries each season or when you're going to be away for a while, to be on the safe side. One criticism would be that when it switched on, it would emit a loud whining noise for the duration of its watering cycle, which would also make my kitchen tap whine loudly, as they share the same water supply pipe.However... *TOP TIP*... I read up online and found that this is easily fixed: There's a small meshed dome filter in the top of the unit where it connects to the tap. Simply remove this, and replace it upside down, so that the dome is facing down rather than up, and it is now completely silent, apart from the little 'clunk' when it turns on and off, which is actually reassuring to hear, as then I know it's working!Would recommend.

Working well for me so far!
Really good product and very simple to set up. I bought it to keep my greenhouse watered while I was on holiday and it's done the job perfectly. The greenhouse is at the top of the garden slightly uphill and it's worked well allowing flow to the capillary hose at normal (for us) mains water pressure. I mention that simply because it's coped with the pressure I've had it at without leaking and without throttling the flow when the timer has kicked in. Being on a water meter that was quite a relief when I got home from holiday to see it working beautifully. I had intended to go manaual again since but it's too handy to just leave the work to it! Good little gadget and not too expensive.

Loved the ease of use after an old non-digital Hozelock ...
Loved the ease of use after an old non-digital Hozelock timer. However, the Hozelock lasted for years; I've just come to get this running for its second season and it's dead. The display shows battery expired. I put in new Duracell batteries. The batteries last about 2 minutes before the timer is back to showing batteries dead. Sad, seemed such a great product in season one. Guess I'm going to have to buy another Hozelock; they're less easy to use but I've had two over the last 20 years and they seem to work well and for many years.... update ... second timer failed after two seasons. Love the functionality on these, but I've given up on them and ordered a differnt make.

Used for 3 seasons and packed in.
This timer worked fine for the three seasons I've used it. It has been stored over winter, draine and dry, without the batteries. I've just put it onto the tap, with new batteries and the water won't flow through it.
