So that is no thickness, no value for money, and too lightweight for the job.
It's the first time ever , have I been disappointed with any Amazon selling product.Sorry these tongs are not strong enough to hold coal to put onto the fire, there is no hard grip on them, as they are much to thin , and no strength in them. Yes they look lovely standing on the hearth.But they really are no use for what they were bought for, and too expensive for what it is.

Average but you get what you pay for
Average product a bit flimsy but they were priced for what they are and they do pick the coal up.

Thin, cheap, and not worth the money.
We have a small log burner in our house and the logs we burn are correspondingly small. We have used these tongs for placing wood in the burner and they bent after about a dozen logs had been moved. The metal is so thin that even small logs will break them.Poor quality, and not recommended.

Poor quality welds
The welds on the handles fail too easily. This is more of an ornamental product than an actual tool. Avoid.

Does the job
Does the job, 12 inches not bad, 15 would be better, however saying that if you wear heat resistant gloves or similar you shouldn't feel the effect of the coals if you're using the tongs to move the coal around in your BBQ

Bit thin and don't line up fully. Ok for price though.
