API POND STRESS COAT

Stress Coat is a must if you use tap water to top up a tank or small pond. It neutralises chemicals in tap water and It doesn't harm any of the good bacteria in the water which help the fish with a coating on their body. We have used this on tropical fish and an outdoor tank with Goldfish without seeing any adverse affects to either. It also goes a long way so quite reasonable as per cost over its use.

Fish friends needed a treat after first pond vac. Did the job. Friends are acting normal and eating. Water test all good.

This is a go to product for my Koi. Used during the change in seasons or if any sign of flashing, it has help restore the health of my Koi after a parasite issue in Spring. Good value for money in a more economical size, it is easily added to my filter system for dispersal in the pond.

My fish decided to jump out the pond when I picked it up it was dry and sticky didn't think he would survive I wiped it off and put it back in the pond looked online and seen this can help slim coat added this to the water the fish survived and is doing OK

I have used Stress Coat for years in the aquarium and in that situation it is a reliable performer, although I tend to use Amquel now as it removes more 'bad' things. I digress. I have never used Stress Coat in a pond as for de-chlorination purposes I use a three canister water purifier. However, this summer I had a frightening ammonia and consequent nitrite spike in my pond. Usual water changes, more quick fix bacteria added, but to no avail. I saw that Pond Stress Coat was supposed to remove ammonia. The API web site was suitably vague on the subject, but I thought I had little to lose. Added 1.25 litres of Stress Coat to 5000 gallon pond. I took a water sample 5 minutes later. The ammonia was gone. Strangely enough, so was the nitrite, which I do not understand. I would have thought time would need to pass for bacteria to remove the remaining nitrite, but I'm not complaining. A very good detoxifying additive then. The only downside was the Amazon Prime delivery. Ordered Monday, arrived Thursday, not something fish keepers will appreciate.

Best bang for your buck. It's a lot of Stress coat for a little money. Works great at removing chlorine and protecting fish.

We had to rebuild our pond and the goldfish that had lived in the old pond for a decade needed a way to acclimate. Following the instructions on this product resulted in not loosing one of our 10 or so goldfish.
