SHIMANO Universal Standard Brake Cable Set, For MTB or Road Bikes

Shimano always produce high quality products.

It was thankfully relatively easy to replace my front brakes with one of these, the connectors are perfect. One note: you'll probably need a cable cutter just as I did to cut the cable to the required length otherwise the cable could get undone and that makes threading it really super messy. It's a good value set that's easy to install with a little finesse and experience or by watching a helpful YouTube video.

Good quality, but the amount of housing provided isn't enough to do both sets of brakes, leaving you the option of using the short piece, reusing part of the old rear housing for the front (take a middle bit) or buying a separate kit. A bit disappointing for an otherwise great deal

Always worth paying a few cents more for the Shimano brand. These cables are easy to fit, cut, and use. They are durable and perform well. They are recommended and sold by bike shops for a reason, and are available for a good price here. I definitely recommend these for road bikes.

This is a perfect OEM replacement brake cable kit that has everything you need to replace the brake cables on your bicycle for a nice, refreshing change to overused and old brake cables. You won’t realize how good new cables perform over old cables until you install these and try them out. If you’re losing power in your brake levers, changing the cables is one of the best things you can do. Cables, over time, stretch and lose their stiffness and power, creating mushy-feeling brake levers. These Shimano cables are the OEM replacements for any Shimano brake kits (and will work with others). I used to work at a bike shop growing up and wouldn’t trust my brake cables with anyone other than Shimano, especially if your brake kit is a Shimano brake kit. Even with different brake kits, these cables work top-notch as they’re built with quality since Shimano has been producing bike parts for decades. The cables are setup perfectly. There is a cable housing piece that is way more than you’ll need to replace all of the brake cables housing on your bike. There are also cable housing ends to ensure the ends of the housing is stiff at the ends for better braking power. The kit includes two brake cables (one short and one long) for replacing both the front and rear brake cables. The kit also includes the cable ends you crimp on in order to keep the ends of your brake cables from fraying. Perfect kit for the cost.

Fit perfectly after cutting for length. The cable did not fray when it was cut and maintained its shape while feeding through the housings.
