Vater 7A Stretch Acorn Tip Hickory Drum Sticks, Pair Small

Looked forever trying to replace my 747b after promark was purchased. These are my new stick of choice. Responsive with good balance.

Great sticks. Bad idea to wrap them tightly in plastic with tape that gums up the gripping area.

I used to play 5A, moved to 7A due to weight and ease of movement but they were always short for me. These are the best of both worlds, also the extra length gives extra power to each stroke, requiring less effort making our playing much more relaxed so i can focus on the musical part and not the physical part of drumming. I also love this brand because of the quality of the material and the lack of stripes or colors which are distracting to me when i play. This is a no frills, no nonsense drum stick with great quality. Definitely the best around.

Normally play a 1A and this is the perfect smaller version diameter-wise, has the length and playability of the 1A just in a lighter smaller stick, I use on my electric set versus acoustic.

I prefer a slightly thinner stick. And I've used the Vater 7A Manhattan sticks that are shorter but slightly thinner. So I wish these were the same profile and weight as those. But there are no better sticks at any price than Vater. You just gotta find yours!

Nice sticks wish they were just a bit longer. Very high quality. Was difficult to determine if they had wood or nylon tips from description. They are wood.

The Stretch 7A by Vater has fast become my favourite drumstick.I have always preferred longer drumsticks, and whenever I use standard length sticks, I find that I end up with the butt-end in my palm - which leads to a lot of dropped sticks!I've tried a load of different options at this length and diameter. My go-to for a while was the VF Steve Jordan signature stick. It's a great feeling stick, but durability was an issue. The Vaters, however, last an age!I also keep a pair of the 5A Stretch in my stick bag for more 'enthusiastic' musical settings!

Love the length of these sticks. Perfect for a short armed drummer like myself💕. However, I've have played over my set list twice with them, and they snapped. I wouldn't say I'm heavy handed, I've had the same vic firth sticks for two years... Wouldn't recommend for 'hardcore' drummers.
