Danco 11080 Tub Spout, No Size, Matte Black

I wasn't certain from the description if this was an exact replacement for my old diverter spout. All the ones in the various stores were five and a half to six inches long, and I needed an eight inch spout to clear the edge of my walk in tub. Additionally, I wanted a screw in spout that would fit, without modification, my existing threaded pipe, which protrudes four inches from the wall. This new spout arrived in the morning of the second day after I ordered it through Amazon Prime. So full marks on delivery. To my delight, it was and exact copy of my old one, and I was able to screw it on, right up to the wall tiles, within just a few seconds, with no modification required. They do include parts and instructions for adapting the spout to fit most pipes / lengths, ie plastic collar, set screw etc. But if you want a screw on spout and your supply pipe extends about four inches out, then this is perfect for you ! Solidly made, and I am delighted with my purchase.

I bought this because I liked the style for the price. I watched the install video before purchase and was fairly confident I had a slip connection so was prepared to follow the video procedure. However, the adapters, o-ring, etc. included are not as in the video. It's a somewhat different process, although there are fairly good picture and written instructions. My main issue is that when I pulled off the old spout I discovered a 1.5 inch smooth copper pipe stub. Specifications for the install hardware are 2-3 inches. I've measured placement of the o-ring/washer and can't really see any reason why it can't work and seal on a 1.5 inch stub. My guess is that the 2 inch minimum is for the sake of having the stub extend farther into the plastic nipple in order to strengthen it for any stress (like someone leaning down on the spout). Now I'm trying to decide if I'm going to risk the adapter/o-ring install or go to the trouble of soldering on a proper brass fitting for an all threaded connection. As usual with such things, it turned out to be more trouble than expected for at least a couple reasons.

This was very easy to install and looks great in our guest bathroom. If it was something I used every day I might be worried about its longevity, but for a bath/shower used only occasionally, it's a good fit.

Very easily replaced a similar a very nasty old spout in my tub. Looks great, performs well. I don't expect it to last forever, but at this price and simple replacement, I'll do it again in 10 years or so.

Updating fixtures to black. Looks good. Caution, be careful and do not over tighten bushings during installation. I did and cracked it so I had to return. Amazon and Danco replaced without a problem. Excellent service and a big thank you.

The method of attaching the spout is far superior to the other spouts that I found at Amazon as well as at local hardware stores. Based upon this, I expect the spout to far outlast others.

Good product. Well made. Leaves too much space from wall when installed on a pipe protruding 4.5 inches from the wall. You'll need an additional tub spout flange to fill space.

This installation was easy. There were two choices of how it installed re: length of pipe from wall.. when tightened down it wasn't flush with wall.. solved with extra plumbers putty.

Product decent but the inside part was not out together right and caused a water leak that went into our ceiling below causing damage. Had to use an old part to fix it.

This product is brushed nickel but looks nothing like the brushed nickel we already have. It appears very cheap looking. Would have returned it if we didn't need it so badly at the time.

Beautiful, easy to install

Looks great! easy to install once you figure out where all the pieces are. Need plumbers silicone grease, and it is not included with the product. I am a 45 year old female and it took me 20 min to take this apart and get it installed (after a trip to the hardware store for the grease). Looks great, I am happy with it.
