Top tool slide not set to an accurate zero!
I bought this lathe to do small accurate work to supplement my main and old small lathe:Took me a little while to realise that the top tool slide was not turning parallel to the bed. Normally on a lathe the tool post and tool moves along the carriage, parallel to the bed, turned by the carriage handwheel, but this lathe only has a top tool post slide which has to be set to zero. Mine was maybe a degree or so out! I had to put a test piece in the chuck and use a DTI to realign the top slide. This should have been done after manufacture. The small chuck is quite awkward to use with two small tommy bars to lock and unlock. A single chuck key would be a lot easier. You have to be careful if you take the work piece out of the chuck for some reason and when replacing it, it does not always run central. I guess it's all down to price...Tool height is not adjustable and I use old feeler gauges to raise the height.I have the lathe mounted on a large slab of aluminium (just happened to have lying about!). This makes it much more stable. I have raised the working height much higher than normal as it makes it easier to use and with poor eyesight and old age, helps a lot.I have only done a few jobs so far, time will tell how accurate and useful it will be...

Great until it wasn’t.
Mine decided to loose all power after a couple combined hours of use. Up until that point it was outstanding. Very accurate and very smooth use. I couldn’t get a replacement so I had to send this one back before purchasing another.

Compound slide
So it h a d boo rack along bed or lead screw. That's not a great help as every time I move that compound alive to turn an angle I have to cl poo co up to parallel turn. Over prices as it lacks the very essence of a lathe. It's a toy,

Had to return
At first I loved this little lathe. Small size, well made etc. However after a couple of uses the brass work piece I was trying to machine was obviously out of balance. I tried another piece of brass abd that was the same. Not sure why but obviously it had developed a fault. I have contacted Amazon and arranged a return, very disappointed.
