Brilliantt. Every household should have one. Easy to use.
How did we live without this? I have labelled every charger and cable in the house, as well as all the folders that previously had handwritten labels. Everything is neater and tidier. It eats batteries, so do invest in the mains plug (a universal ac/dc mains charger will cost only £5, and is cheaper than the official DYMO mains adapter which will set you back £9). I prefer the plastic tape over the paper tape - seems to stick better and longer. Dymo do lots of funky colours including iron on tape for clothes, and pink metallic and blue metallic for labelling your children's pencil cases, books, toys, book bags etc. A fantastic product. You can choose between different fonts, size of font, itallic, bold. You can also add a large number of symbols and pictures along the lines of what you have on your mobile phone (smiley faces, cats, dogs, stars etc). It is very easy to use. You can swap tapes anytime you want without needing to use up one roll before going onto the next. I personally strongly prefer this QWERTY keyboard to the alternative ABC keyboard (a different product, same price).

These are very good machines. This is my second one my last one I had for over 10 years and was in constant use.

Useful keyboard, easy to use
I have a lot of things to label, and chose this over the smaller version of the label maker as the keyboard looked easier to use. It definitely was the right choice as the keyboard layout makes is easy and quick to create labels. The digital display is clear and easy to read, the printing is quick and clear. In several hours, I managed to re-label a significant number of the drawers in my Sealy cabinets, they're now beautifully readable with the labels visible from a distance of several feet rather than the inches that my crabbed handwriting required. It's not completely perfect, the print is not centered on the label, which is slightly annoying but it's not a deal-breaker. The font size choice is handy, the ability to print two rows on a label is useful but when the font is set to the largest size it doesn't really fill the label from top to bottom which is a fault that should be addressed in future versions of the machine. The positive side has the quantity and type of labels available, from transparent labels with black lettering to paper white labels with black lettering as well as other coloured backgrounds and lettering. The labels are easily readable, and seem very smuge-proof. They adhere well to most surfaces, but on plastic drawers it helps to put a layer of clear tape over to keep them firmly attached. Overall, this little label maker is a good value for the price. It prints quickly and clearly, the cassettes are easy to replace, the function key offers a lot of extras including various symbols and size changes. For basic labelling needs without using a computer, it certainly fills the requirements nicely.

It is perfect for home use
This has helped take much of the mystery out of my life. I now know what is in all those boxes and baskets without wasting valuable time and effort lifting off all the lids. This does exactly what it says on the tin. It is perfect for home use. If you can touch type this querty keyboard is just what you need. The batteries are not lasting that long though. I did read a review somewhere that recommended "eneloop" rechargeable batteries, so I may give them a go. I saw them recently in our local Costco. This labeller is SO easy to use, so I recommend it . My husband didn't pay it much attention until he realised it was perfect for labelling all the cables for his cameras. Now he is a fan! I also felt the price was quite reasonable. I looked into most of the machines available before I chose this one.

Wish I'd bought one years ago
Bought this after reading David Allen's Getting Things Done. Get the book, buy one of these, do what he says. It has a QWERTY keyboard and it's reasonably compact (though a little smaller would be better, for me). Labels are clear and the borders around the text on each label aren't excessively large (so you won't be irritated by paying for empty label tape). Easy to get hold of replacement tape. Peeling the backing off the labels is easy. Easy to find your way around the functions - I didn't have to read the manual. It gets a reasonable life out of batteries (4 x AA, I'm using 2600 mAh ones, haven't needed to replace yet after 3 months; edit: would suggest using "eneloop" rechargeables since they don't lose their charge while they're sitting on the shelf unused).

How disappointing.
This is my second purchase of this brand but the older version. Finally gave up on me so I didn't think twice about buying this new model as my lady one was brilliant. HOWEVER.... I am quite disappointed with it so far. Every time I use the cutter it bends the corner of the label inside the machine which causes the second label I print to get jammed and I waist this strip and ink which I have to dig out with a knife. Secondly I find that the second letter of ever new label I print is not completely visible, which is probably something to do with the previous label having been stuck inside during the attempted print. I try not to leave negative feedback as I appreciate that sometimes quality control misses the odd item but I am not unfamiliar with this company and I know this is disappointingly faulty. I'm outside the 14 days so no refund just a prewarning to not purchase from them again I'm afraid.

Good for the (organised) soul
If you like to be organised you should have one of these. It prints nice labels on a variety of different tapes (I personally like the clear and metallic green plastic) quickly and easily and will allow you to include a variety of interesting symbols, emoticon style pictures and funky borders. I have used mine to label plugs, bottles, jars, remote controls, switches and the various items involved in washing clothes for the benefit of my husband. All labels have printed nicely and stuck well as long as the tape cartridge is properly clicked into place. It even has a helpful little blade to cut the label once printed. My inner geek is thoroughly delighted with it!
