This is a messy, fun project for any kid! Tons of tools and safety glasses they can wear when digging. I like the different colored balls so they can do this more than once. Winter in Ohio means they can't do it outside, but I would recommend it! For now we do this project in the tub for easy clean up! I would buy it again or even give as a gift!

This thing is awesome! Kids loved it. Add a little water to them, and they dig pretty easily. The kids loved finding the gemstones inside.

Great gift for a 7yr-old who likes rocks!! Breaking open the rocks to find the gemstones was fun. It makes a big mess so and once the rock dries it re-hardens. I would suggest doing it on a paper plate to just throw away. The gems inside are pretty and nicely polish. Good value for fun, scientific activity.

This was a fun activity for my 8year old. She chipped away at the solid rocks carefully and was so excited to discover the gems and then examine them afterwards. Definitely a good project for outside to minimize the mess!

This was a great buy! I’ve only done 1 & still have 3 left but I’m incredibly happy with the fun and experience I had with my kids aged 1 & 2. My 1 year old did a lot of banging while my 2 year old did the digging/sweeping. They actually gave up 30 mins in where I spent another 30 mins trying to find something myself while they watched me. Definitely worth the buy & will be getting another one :)

Grandkids loved this - had a blast working to get the gems out - came with safety glasses and all the tools - made the kids feel authentic - it is a very messy project - would suggest to use outdoors - the activity took some time which is nice because the kids were engaged in it and got very excited everytime they found a gem

My son likes to dig and find gems, it’s perfect for him but it need water to dissolve fast if your kids are not patient 😄
